2 Samuel 8

1 mapa ¶ E sucedeu depois disto que Davi feriu os filisteus, e os sujeitou; e Davi tomou a Metegue-Ama das mãos dos filisteus. And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 mapa Também derrotou os moabitas, e os mediu com cordel, fazendo-os deitar por terra; e os mediu com dois cordéis para os matar, e com um cordel inteiro para os deixar com vida. Ficaram assim os moabitas por servos de Davi, pagando-lhe tributos. And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
3 mapa Feriu também Davi a Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá, quando ele ia recuperar o seu domínio sobre o rio Eufrates. David smote also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
4 E tomou-lhe Davi mil carros e setecentos cavaleiros e vinte mil homens de pé; e Davi jarretou a todos os cavalos dos carros, e reservou deles cem carros. And David took from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.
5 mapa E vieram os sírios de Damasco a socorrer a Hadadezer, rei de Zobá; porém Davi feriu dos sírios vinte e dois mil homens. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 mapa E Davi pôs guarnições na Síria de Damasco, e os sírios ficaram por servos de Davi, pagando-lhe tributos; e o SENHOR guardou a Davi por onde quer que ia. Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.
7 mapa E Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que havia com os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe a Jerusalém. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 mapa Tomou mais o rei Davi uma quantidade muito grande de bronze de Betá e de Berotai, cidades de Hadadezer. And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9 mapa ¶ Então ouvindo Toí, rei de Hamate, que Davi ferira a todo o exército de Hadadezer, And when Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
10 Mandou Toí, seu filho Jorão, ao rei Davi, para lhe perguntar como estava, e para lhe dar os parabéns por haver pelejado contra Hadadezer, e por o haver ferido (porque Hadadezer de contínuo fazia guerra a Toí); e na sua mão trazia vasos de prata, e vasos de ouro, e vasos de bronze, then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And [Joram] brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11 Os quais também o rei Davi consagrou ao SENHOR, juntamente com a prata e ouro que já havia consagrado de todas as nações que sujeitara. These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;
12 mapa Da Síria, e de Moabe, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e de Amaleque, e dos despojos de Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá. of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 mapa Também Davi ganhou nome, voltando ele de ferir os sírios no vale do Sal, a saber, a dezoito mil. And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.
14 mapa E pós guarnições, em Edom, em todo o Edom pôs guarnições, e todos os edomeus ficaram por servos de Davi; e o SENHOR ajudava a Davi por onde quer que ia. And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.
15 ¶ Reinou, pois, Davi sobre todo o Israel; e Davi fazia direito e justiça a todo o seu povo. And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness unto all his people.
16 E Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era sobre o exército; e Jeosafá, filho de Ailude, era cronista. And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17 E Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes, e Seraías escrivão. and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;
18 Também Benaia, filho de Jeoiada, estava sobre os quereteus e peleteus; porém os filhos de Davi eram ministros. and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada [was over] the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
