Malaquias 1

 
1 ¶ Peso da palavra do SENHOR contra Israel, por intermédio de Malaquias. The burden of the word of Jehovah to Israel by Malachi.
2 Eu vos tenho amado, diz o SENHOR. Mas vós dizeis: Em que nos tem amado? Não era Esaú irmão de Jacó? disse o SENHOR; todavia amei a Jacó, I have loved you, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother, saith Jehovah: yet I loved Jacob;
3 E odiei a Esaú; e fiz dos seus montes uma desolação, e dei a sua herança aos chacais do deserto. but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.
4 ver mapa Ainda que Edom diga: Empobrecidos estamos, porém tornaremos a edificar os lugares desolados; assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eles edificarão, e eu destruirei; e lhes chamarão: Termo de impiedade, e povo contra quem o SENHOR está irado para sempre. Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.
5 E os vossos olhos o verão, e direis: O SENHOR seja engrandecido além dos termos de Israel. And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, Jehovah be magnified beyond the border of Israel.
6 ¶ O filho honra o pai, e o servo o seu senhor; se eu sou pai, onde está a minha honra? E, se eu sou senhor, onde está o meu temor? diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos a vós, ó sacerdotes, que desprezais o meu nome. E vós dizeis: Em que nós temos desprezado o teu nome? A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a father, where is mine honor? and if I am a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7 Ofereceis sobre o meu altar pão imundo, e dizeis: Em que te havemos profanado? Nisto que dizeis: A mesa do SENHOR é desprezível. Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar. And ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible.
8 Porque, quando ofereceis animal cego para o sacrifício, isso não é mau? E quando ofereceis o coxo ou enfermo, isso não é mau? Ora apresenta-o ao teu governador; porventura terá ele agrado em ti? ou aceitará ele a tua pessoa? diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos. And when ye offer the blind for sacrifice, it is no evil! and when ye offer the lame and sick, it is no evil! Present it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee? or will he accept thy person? saith Jehovah of hosts.
9 Agora, pois, eu suplico, peça a Deus, que ele seja misericordioso conosco; isto veio das vossas mãos; aceitará ele a vossa pessoa? diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos. And now, I pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.
10 Quem há também entre vós que feche as portas por nada, e não acenda debalde o fogo do meu altar? Eu não tenho prazer em vós, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, nem aceitarei oferta da vossa mão. Oh that there were one among you that would shut the doors, that ye might not kindle [fire on] mine altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11 Mas desde o nascente do sol até ao poente é grande entre os gentios o meu nome; e em todo o lugar se oferecerá ao meu nome incenso, e uma oferta pura; porque o meu nome é grande entre os gentios, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos. For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name [shall be] great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense [shall be] offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name [shall be] great among the Gentiles, saith Jehovah of hosts.
12 Mas vós o profanais, quando dizeis: A mesa do Senhor é impura, e o seu produto, isto é, a sua comida é desprezível. But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of Jehovah is polluted, and the fruit thereof, even its food, is contemptible.
13 E dizeis ainda: Eis aqui, que canseira! E o lançastes ao desprezo, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos; vós ofereceis o que foi roubado, e o coxo e o enfermo; assim trazeis a oferta. Aceitaria eu isso de vossa mão? diz o SENHOR. Ye say also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts; and ye have brought that which was taken by violence, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the offering: should I accept this at your hand? saith Jehovah.
14 Pois seja maldito o enganador que, tendo macho no seu rebanho, promete e oferece ao Senhor o que tem mácula; porque eu sou grande Rei, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o meu nome é temível entre os gentios. But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the Gentiles.
