¶ [Salmo de Davi quando estava no deserto de Judá] O Deus, tu és o meu Deus, de madrugada te buscarei; a minha alma tem sede de ti; a minha carne te deseja muito em uma terra seca e cansada, onde não há água; |
A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry and weary land, where no water is. |

Para ver a tua força e a tua glória, como te vi no santuário. |
So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory. |

¶ Porque a tua benignidade é melhor do que a vida, os meus lábios te louvarão. |
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise thee. |
|

|
Assim eu te bendirei enquanto viver; em teu nome levantarei as minhas mãos. |
So will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. |

|
A minha alma se fartará, como de tutano e de gordura; e a minha boca te louvará com alegres lábios. |
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips; |

|
Quando me lembrar de ti na minha cama, e meditar em ti nas vigílias da noite. |
When I remember thee upon my bed, [And] meditate on thee in the night-watches. |

|
¶ Porque tu tens sido o meu auxílio; então, à sombra das tuas asas me regozijarei. |
For thou hast been my help, And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. |

|
A minha alma te segue de perto; a tua destra me sustenta. |
My soul followeth hard after thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me. |
|

|
Mas aqueles que procuram a minha alma para a destruir, irão para as profundezas da terra. |
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth. |

|
Cairão à espada; serão uma ração para as raposas. |
They shall be given over to the power of the sword: They shall be a portion for foxes. |

|
Mas o rei se regozijará em Deus; qualquer que por ele jurar se gloriará; porque se taparão as bocas dos que falam a mentira. |
But the king shall rejoice in God: Every one that sweareth by him shall glory; For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped. |
