Salmos 73

 
1 ¶ [Salmo de Asafe] Verdadeiramente bom é Deus para com Israel, para com os limpos de coração. A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, [Even] to such as are pure in heart.
2 Quanto a mim, os meus pés quase que se desviaram; pouco faltou para que escorregassem os meus passos. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; My steps had well nigh slipped.
3 Pois eu tinha inveja dos néscios, quando via a prosperidade dos ímpios. For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Porque não há apertos na sua morte, mas firme está a sua força. For there are no pangs in their death; But their strength is firm.
5 Não se acham em trabalhos como outros homens, nem são afligidos como outros homens. They are not in trouble as [other] men; Neither are they plagued like [other] men.
6 Por isso a soberba os cerca como um colar; vestem-se de violência como de adorno. Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; Violence covereth them as a garment.
7 Os olhos deles estão inchados de gordura; eles têm mais do que o coração podia desejar. Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish.
8 São corrompidos e tratam maliciosamente de opressão; falam arrogantemente. They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily.
9 Põem as suas bocas contra os céus, e as suas línguas andam pela terra. They have set their mouth in the heavens, And their tongue walketh through the earth.
10 Por isso o povo dele volta aqui, e águas de copo cheio se lhes espremem. Therefore his people return hither: And waters of a full [cup] are drained by them.
11 E eles dizem: Como o sabe Deus? Há conhecimento no Altíssimo? And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 Eis que estes são ímpios, e prosperam no mundo; aumentam em riquezas. Behold, these are the wicked; And, being alway at ease, they increase in riches.
13 Na verdade que em vão tenho purificado o meu coração; e lavei as minhas mãos na inocência. Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocency;
14 Pois todo o dia tenho sido afligido, e castigado cada manhã. For all the day long have I been plagued, And chastened every morning.
15 ¶ Se eu dissesse: Falarei assim; eis que ofenderia a geração de teus filhos. If I had said, I will speak thus; Behold, I had dealt treacherously with the generation of thy children.
16 Quando pensava em entender isto, foi para mim muito doloroso; When I thought how I might know this, It was too painful for me;
17 Até que entrei no santuário de Deus; então entendi eu o fim deles. Until I went into the sanctuary of God, And considered their latter end.
18 Certamente tu os puseste em lugares escorregadios; tu os lanças em destruição. Surely thou settest them in slippery places: Thou castest them down to destruction.
19 Como caem na desolação, quase num momento! Ficam totalmente consumidos de terrores. How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 Como um sonho, quando se acorda, assim, ó Senhor, quando acordares, desprezarás a aparência deles. As a dream when one awaketh, So, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.
21 ¶ Assim o meu coração se azedou, e sinto picadas nos meus rins. For my soul was grieved, And I was pricked in my heart:
22 Assim me embruteci, e nada sabia; fiquei como um animal perante ti. So brutish was I, and ignorant; I was [as] a beast before thee.
23 Todavia estou de contínuo contigo; tu me sustentaste pela minha mão direita. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: Thou hast holden my right hand.
24 Guiar-me-ás com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás na glória. Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
25 Quem tenho eu no céu senão a ti? e na terra não há quem eu deseje além de ti. Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee.
26 A minha carne e o meu coração desfalecem; mas Deus é a fortaleza do meu coração, e a minha porção para sempre. My flesh and my heart faileth; [But] God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
27 Pois eis que os que se alongam de ti, perecerão; tu tens destruído todos aqueles que se desviam de ti. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: Thou hast destroyed all them that play the harlot, [departing] from thee.
28 Mas para mim, bom é aproximar-me de Deus; pus a minha confiança no Senhor DEUS, para anunciar todas as tuas obras. But it is good for me to draw near unto God: I have made the Lord Jehovah my refuge, That I may tell of all thy works.
