Salmos 83

 
1 ¶ [cântico e salmo de Asafe] O Deus, não estejas em silêncio; não te cales, nem te aquietes, ó Deus, A song. A Psalm of Asaph. O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 Porque eis que teus inimigos fazem tumulto, e os que te odeiam levantaram a cabeça. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 Tomaram astuto conselho contra o teu povo, e consultaram contra os teus escondidos. Thy take crafty counsel against thy people, And consult together against thy hidden ones.
4 Disseram: Vinde, e desarraiguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem haja mais memória do nome de Israel. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 Porque consultaram juntos e unânimes; eles se unem contra ti: For they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:
6 ver mapa As tendas de Edom, e dos ismaelitas, de Moabe, e dos agarenos, The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 ver mapa De Gebal, e de Amom, e de Amaleque, a Filístia, com os moradores de Tiro; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:
8 ver mapa Também a Assíria se ajuntou com eles; foram ajudar aos filhos de Ló. (Selá.) Assyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah
9 ver mapa ¶ Faze-lhes como aos midianitas; como a Sísera, como a Jabim na ribeira de Quisom; Do thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;
10 ver mapa Os quais pereceram em Endor; tornaram-se como estrume para a terra. Who perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.
11 Faze aos seus nobres como a Orebe, e como a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes, como a Zebá e como a Zalmuna, Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;
12 Que disseram: Tomemos para nós as casas de Deus em possessão. Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession The habitations of God.
13 Deus meu, faze-os como um tufão, como a aresta diante do vento. O my God, make them like the whirling dust; As stubble before the wind.
14 Como o fogo que queima um bosque, e como a chama que incendeia as brenhas, As the fire that burneth the forest, And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire,
15 Assim os persegue com a tua tempestade, e os assombra com o teu torvelinho. So pursue them with thy tempest, And terrify them with thy storm.
16 Encham-se de vergonha as suas faces, para que busquem o teu nome, SENHOR. Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.
17 Confundam-se e assombrem-se perpetuamente; envergonhem-se, e pereçam, Let them be put to shame and dismayed for ever; Yea, let them be confounded and perish;
18 Para que saibam que tu, a quem só pertence o nome de SENHOR, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra. That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.
