Efésios 5

1 So seid nun Gottes Nachfolger als die lieben Kinder Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;
2 und wandelt in der Liebe, gleichwie Christus uns hat geliebt und sich selbst dargegeben für uns als Gabe und Opfer, Gott zu einem süßen Geruch. and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.
3 Hurerei aber und alle Unreinigkeit oder Geiz lasset nicht von euch gesagt werden, wie den Heiligen zusteht, But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
4 auch nicht schandbare Worte und Narrenteidinge oder Scherze, welche euch nicht ziemen, sondern vielmehr Danksagung. nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.
5 Denn das sollt ihr wissen, daß kein Hurer oder Unreiner oder Geiziger, welcher ist ein Götzendiener, Erbe hat in dem Reich Christi und Gottes. For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
6 Lasset euch niemand verführen mit vergeblichen Worten; denn um dieser Dinge willen kommt der Zorn Gottes über die Kinder des Unglaubens. Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Darum seid nicht ihr Mitgenossen. Be not ye therefore partakers with them;
8 Denn ihr waret weiland Finsternis; nun aber seid ihr ein Licht in dem HERRN. For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light
9 Wandelt wie die Kinder des Lichts, die Frucht des Geistes ist allerlei Gütigkeit und Gerechtigkeit und Wahrheit, (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10 und prüfet, was da sei wohlgefällig dem HERRN. proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
11 und habt nicht Gemeinschaft mit den unfruchtbaren Werken der Finsternis, strafet sie aber vielmehr. and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;
12 Denn was heimlich von ihnen geschieht, das ist auch zu sagen schändlich. for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.
13 Das alles aber wird offenbar, wenn's vom Licht gestraft wird; denn alles, was offenbar ist, das ist Licht. But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.
14 So sehet nun zu, wie ihr vorsichtig wandelt, nicht als die Unweisen, sondern als die Weisen, Wherefore [he] saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.
15 und kaufet die Zeit aus; denn es ist böse Zeit. Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
16 Darum werdet nicht unverständig, sondern verständig, was da sei des HERRN Wille. redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Und saufet euch nicht voll Wein, daraus ein unordentlich Wesen folgt, sondern werdet voll Geistes: Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 redet untereinander in Psalmen und Lobgesängen und geistlichen Liedern, singet und spielet dem HERRN in eurem Herzen And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;
19 und saget Dank allezeit für alles Gott und dem Vater in dem Namen unsers HERRN Jesu Christi, speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
20 und seid untereinander untertan in der Furcht Gottes. giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
21 Die Weiber seien untertan ihren Männern als dem HERRN. subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
22 Denn der Mann ist des Weibes Haupt, gleichwie auch Christus das Haupt ist der Gemeinde, und er ist seines Leibes Heiland. Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 Aber wie nun die Gemeinde ist Christo untertan, also auch die Weiber ihren Männern in allen Dingen. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the saviour of the body.
24 Ihr Männer, liebet eure Weiber, gleichwie Christus auch geliebt hat die Gemeinde und hat sich selbst für sie gegeben, But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything.
25 auf daß er sie heiligte, und hat sie gereinigt durch das Wasserbad im Wort, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
26 auf daß er sie sich selbst darstellte als eine Gemeinde, die herrlich sei, die nicht habe einen Flecken oder Runzel oder des etwas, sondern daß sie heilig sei und unsträflich. that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
27 Also sollen auch die Männer ihre Weiber lieben wie ihre eigenen Leiber. Wer sein Weib liebt, der liebt sich selbst. that he might present the church to himself a glorious [church], not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 Denn niemand hat jemals sein eigen Fleisch gehaßt; sondern er nährt es und pflegt sein, gleichwie auch der HERR die Gemeinde. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:
29 Denn wir sind die Glieder seines Leibes, von seinem Fleisch und von seinem Gebein. for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;
30 Das Geheimnis ist groß; ich sage aber von Christo und der Gemeinde. because we are members of his body.
31 Doch auch ihr, ja ein jeglicher habe lieb sein Weib als sich selbst; das Weib aber fürchte den Mann. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.
32 This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.
33 Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and [let] the wife [see] that she fear her husband.
