Jó 40

1 Und der HERR antwortete Hiob und sprach: Moreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,
2 Will mit dem Allmächtigen rechten der Haderer? Wer Gott tadelt, soll's der nicht verantworten? Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it.
3 Hiob aber antwortete dem HERRN und sprach: Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,
4 Siehe, ich bin zu leichtfertig gewesen; was soll ich verantworten? Ich will meine Hand auf meinen Mund legen. Behold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.
5 Ich habe einmal geredet, und will nicht antworten; zum andernmal will ich's nicht mehr tun. Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.
6 Und der HERR antwortete Hiob aus dem Wetter und sprach: Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Gürte wie ein Mann deine Lenden; ich will dich fragen, lehre mich! Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Solltest du mein Urteil zunichte machen und mich verdammen, daß du gerecht seist? Wilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?
9 Hast du einen Arm wie Gott, und kannst mit gleicher Stimme donnern, wie er tut? Or hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Schmücke dich mit Pracht und erhebe dich; ziehe Majestät und Herrlichkeit an! Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty.
11 Streue aus den Zorn deines Grimmes; schaue an die Hochmütigen, wo sie sind, und demütige sie! Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Ja, schaue die Hochmütigen, wo sie sind und beuge sie; und zermalme die Gottlosen, wo sie sind! Look on every one that is proud, [and] bring him low; And tread down the wicked where they stand.
13 Verscharre sie miteinander in die Erde und versenke ihre Pracht ins Verborgene, Hide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden [place].
14 so will ich dir auch bekennen, daß dir deine rechte Hand helfen kann. Then will I also confess of thee That thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Siehe da, den Behemoth, den ich neben dir gemacht habe; er frißt Gras wie ein Ochse. Behold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox.
16 Siehe seine Kraft ist in seinen Lenden und sein Vermögen in den Sehnen seines Bauches. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 Sein Schwanz streckt sich wie eine Zeder; die Sehnen seiner Schenkel sind dicht geflochten. He moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 Seine Knochen sind wie eherne Röhren; seine Gebeine sind wie eiserne Stäbe. His bones are [as] tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron.
19 Er ist der Anfang der Wege Gottes; der ihn gemacht hat, der gab ihm sein Schwert. He is the chief of the ways of God: He [only] that made him giveth him his sword.
20 Die Berge tragen ihm Kräuter, und alle wilden Tiere spielen daselbst. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play.
21 Er liegt gern im Schatten, im Rohr und im Schlamm verborgen. He lieth under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the fen.
22 Das Gebüsch bedeckt ihn mit seinem Schatten, und die Bachweiden umgeben ihn. The lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about.
23 mapa Siehe, er schluckt in sich den Strom und achtet's nicht groß; läßt sich dünken, er wolle den Jordan mit seinem Munde ausschöpfen. Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not; He is confident, though a Jordan swell even to his mouth.
24 Fängt man ihn wohl vor seinen Augen und durchbohrt ihm mit Stricken seine Nase? Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?
