1 Tämä on luettelo Aadamin jälkeläisistä. Luodessaan ihmisen Jumala teki hänet kaltaisekseen. This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God made man, he made him in the image of God;

6 Kun Set oli elänyt 105 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Enos. And Seth was a hundred and five years old when he became the father of Enosh:
7 Enosin syntymän jälkeen Set eli vielä 807 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And he went on living after the birth of Enosh for eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters:
8 Set eli kaikkiaan 912 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Seth's life were nine hundred and twelve: and he came to his end.
9 Kun Enos oli elänyt 90 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Kenan. And Enosh was ninety years old when he became the father of Kenan:
10 Kenanin syntymän jälkeen Enos eli vielä 815 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And after the birth of Kenan, Enosh went on living for eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters:
11 Enos eli kaikkiaan 905 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Enosh were nine hundred and five: and he came to his end.
12 Kun Kenan oli elänyt 70 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Mahalalel. And Kenan was seventy years old when he became the father of Mahalalel:
13 Mahalalelin syntymän jälkeen Kenan eli vielä 840 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And after the birth of Mahalalel, Kenan went on living for eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters:
14 Kenan eli kaikkiaan 910 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Kenan's life were nine hundred and ten; and he came to his end.
15 Kun Mahalalel oli elänyt 65 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Jered. And Mahalalel was sixty-five years old when he became the father of Jared:
16 Jeredin syntymän jälkeen Mahalalel eli vielä 830 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And after the birth of Jared, Mahalalel went on living for eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters:
17 Mahalalel eli kaikkiaan 895 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Mahalalel's life were eight hundred and ninety-five: and he came to his end.
18 Kun Jered oli elänyt 162 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Henok. And Jared was a hundred and sixty-two years old when he became the father of Enoch:
19 Henokin syntymän jälkeen Jered eli vielä 800 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And Jared went on living after the birth of Enoch for eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
20 Jered eli kaikkiaan 962 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Jared's life were nine hundred and sixty-two: and he came to his end.
21 Kun Henok oli elänyt 65 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Metuselah. And Enoch was sixty-five years old when he became the father of Methuselah:
22 Metuselahin syntymän jälkeen Henok eli vielä 300 vuotta vaeltaen aina Jumalan tahdon mukaisesti, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch went on in God's ways for three hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
23 Henok eli kaikkiaan 365 vuotta. And all the years of Enoch's life were three hundred and sixty-five:
24 Hän vaelsi kuuliaisena Jumalalle. Sitten häntä ei enää ollut, sillä Jumala otti hänet luokseen. And Enoch went on in God's ways: and he was not seen again, for God took him.
25 Kun Metuselah oli elänyt 187 vuotta, hänelle syntyi Lemek. And Methuselah was a hundred and eighty-seven years old when he became the father of Lamech:
26 Lemekin syntymän jälkeen Metuselah eli vielä 782 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And after the birth of Lamech, Methuselah went on living for seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters:
27 Metuselah eli kaikkiaan 969 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And all the years of Methuselah's life were nine hundred and sixty-nine: and he came to his end.
28 Kun Lemek oli elänyt 182 vuotta, hänelle syntyi poika. And Lamech was a hundred and eighty-two years old when he had a son:
29 Lemek eli Nooan syntymän jälkeen vielä 595 vuotta, ja hänelle syntyi lisää poikia ja tyttäriä. And he gave him the name of Noah, saying, Truly, he will give us rest from our trouble and the hard work of our hands, because of the earth which was cursed by God.
30 Lemek eli kaikkiaan 777 vuotta ja kuoli sitten. And after the birth of Noah, Lamech went on living for five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters:
31 Kun Nooa oli elänyt 500 vuotta, hänelle syntyivät Seem, Haam ja Jafet. And all the years of Lamech's life were seven hundred and seventy-seven: and he came to his end.
32 And when Noah was five hundred years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
