Laulunjohtajalle. Kielisoittimilla. Asafin psalmi, laulu. (H76:2)Juudassa Jumala tunnetaan, hänen nimensä on suuri Israelissa.

(H76:3)Salemissa on hänen majansa, Siion on hänen asumuksensa.

(H76:4)Siellä hän on murtanut tuliset nuolet, kilvet, miekat ja kaikki aseet. (sela)

(H76:5)Häikäisevä on sinun kirkkautesi, olet mahtavampi kuin ikuiset vuoret.

(H76:6)Soturit riisuttiin aseista, sankarit vaipuivat uneen, heidän kätensä eivät totelleet heitä.

(H76:7)Kun sinä, Jaakobin Jumala, ärjäisit, hevoset ja ajajat jähmettyivät.

(H76:8)Herra, sinä olet pelottava. Kuka voi kestää, kun vihasi syttyy?

(H76:9)Taivaasta sinä kuulutat tuomiosi. Peloissaan maa vaikenee,

(H76:10)kun Jumala käy tuomitsemaan. Hän pelastaa heikot ja sorretut. (sela)

(H76:11)Ihmisten vihakin koituu sinulle ylistykseksi, eloon jääneet viettävät kiitosjuhlaa.

(H76:12)Kun Herra, teidän Jumalanne, on täyttänyt pyyntönne, tuokaa hänelle, mitä olette luvanneet. Tuokoot naapurikansatkin uhrilahjojaan pelottavalle valtiaalle.

(H76:13)Hän täyttää pelolla kansojen kuninkaat, hän lannistaa ylpeät ruhtinaat.

In Judah is the knowledge of God; his name is great in Israel,

In Salem is his tent, his resting-place in Zion.

There were the arrows of the bow broken, there he put an end to body-cover, sword, and fight. (Selah.)

You are shining and full of glory, more than the eternal mountains.

Gone is the wealth of the strong, their last sleep has overcome them; the men of war have become feeble.

At the voice of your wrath, O God of Jacob, deep sleep has overcome carriage and horse.

You, you are to be feared; who may keep his place before you in the time of your wrath?

From heaven you gave your decision; the earth, in its fear, gave no sound,

When God took his place as judge, for the salvation of the poor on the earth. (Selah.)

He puts an end to the wrath of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
