Mais vale um pobre que caminha na integridade que um insensato com lábios mentirosos.
Sem a ciência, nem mesmo o zelo é bom: quem precipita seus passos, desvia-se.
A loucura de um homem o leva a um mau caminho; é contra o Senhor que seu coração se irrita.
A riqueza aumenta o número de amigos, o pobre é abandonado pelo seu {único} companheiro.
O falso testemunho não fica sem castigo; o que profere mentira não escapará.
O homem generoso possui muitos lisonjeiros: todos se tornam amigos de quem dá.
Todos os irmãos do pobre o odeiam, quanto mais seus amigos não hão de se afastar dele? Está em busca de palavras, mas não terá nada.
Quem adquire bom senso ama sua alma; o que observa a prudência encontra a felicidade.

Casas e bens são a herança dos pais, mas uma mulher sensata é um dom do Senhor.

Ouve os conselhos, aceita a instrução: tu serás sábio para o futuro.
Há muitos planos no coração do homem, mas é a vontade do Senhor que se realiza.

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
{There are} many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
The desire of a man {is} his kindness: and a poor man {is} better than a liar.
The fear of the LORD {tendeth} to life: and {he that hath it} shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
