Salmos 25
De Davi. Para vós, Senhor, elevo a minha alma.
Meu Deus, em vós confio: não seja eu decepcionado! Não escarneçam de mim meus inimigos!
Não, nenhum daqueles que esperam em vós será confundido, mas os pérfidos serão cobertos de vergonha.
Senhor, mostrai-me os vossos caminhos, e ensinai-me as vossas veredas.
Dirigi-me na vossa verdade e ensinai-me, porque sois o Deus de minha salvação e em vós eu espero sempre.
Lembrai-vos, Senhor, de vossas misericórdias e de vossas bondades, que são eternas.
Não vos lembreis dos pecados de minha juventude e dos meus delitos; em nome de vossa misericórdia, lembrai-vos de mim, por causa de vossa bondade, Senhor.
O Senhor é bom e reto, por isso reconduz os extraviados ao caminho reto.
Dirige os humildes na justiça, e lhes ensina a sua via.
Todos os caminhos do Senhor são graça e fidelidade, para aqueles que guardam sua aliança e seus preceitos.
Por amor de vosso nome, Senhor, perdoai meu pecado, por maior que seja.
Que advém ao homem que teme o Senhor? Deus lhe ensina o caminho que deve escolher.
Viverá na felicidade, e sua posteridade possuirá a terra.
O Senhor se torna íntimo dos que o temem, e lhes manifesta a sua aliança.
Meus olhos estão sempre fixos no Senhor, porque ele livrará do laço os meus pés.
Olhai-me e tende piedade de mim, porque estou só e na miséria.
Aliviai as angústias do meu coração, e livrai-me das aflições.
Vede minha miséria e meu sofrimento, e perdoai-me todas as faltas.
Vede meus inimigos, são muitos, e com ódio implacável me perseguem.
Defendei minha alma e livrai-me; não seja confundido eu que em vós me acolhi.
Protejam-me a inocência e a integridade, porque espero em vós, Senhor.
Ó Deus, livrai Israel de todas as suas angústias.
[{A Psalm} of David.] Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou {art} the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they {have been} ever of old. {tender...: Heb. bowels}
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
Good and upright {is} the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
All the paths of the LORD {are} mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it {is} great.
What man {is} he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way {that} he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. {dwell...: Heb. lodge in goodness}
The secret of the LORD {is} with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. {and...: or, and his covenant to make them know it}
Mine eyes {are} ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. {pluck: Heb. bring forth}
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I {am} desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: {O} bring thou me out of my distresses.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. {cruel...: Heb. hatred of violence}
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
