| 1 | And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him, with the elders, | És lõn azok közül a napok közül egyen, mikor õ a népet tanítá a templomban, és és az evangyéliomot hirdeté, elõállának a fõpapok és az írástudók a vénekkel egybe, |
| 2 | And spoke to him, saying, Tell us, By what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? | És mondának néki, így szólván: Mondd meg nékünk, micsoda hatalommal cselekszed ezeket? vagy ki az, a ki néked ezt a hatalmat adta? |
| 3 | And he answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: | Felelvén pedig, monda nékik: Én is kérdek egy dolgot tõletek; mondjátok meg azért nékem: |
| 4 | The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? | A János keresztsége mennybõl vala-é, vagy emberektõl? |
| 5 | And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? | Azok pedig tanakodának magok közt, mondván: Ha [ezt] mondjuk: Mennybõl; [azt] fogja mondani: Miért nem hittetek tehát néki? |
| 6 | But if we say, From men; all the people will stone us: for they are persuaded that John was a prophet. | Ha pedig [ezt] mondjuk: Emberektõl; az egész nép megkövez minket: mert meg van gyõzõdve, hogy János próféta volt. |
| 7 | And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. | Felelének azért, hogy õk nem tudják, honnét [vala.] |
| 8 | And Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. | És Jézus monda nékik: Én sem mondom meg néktek, micsoda hatalommal cselekszem ezeket. |
| 9 | Then he began to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. | És kezdé a népnek e példázatot mondani: Egy ember plántála szõlõt, és kiadá azt munkásoknak, és hosszú idõre elutazék. |
| 10 | And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. | És annak idején elküldé szolgáját a munkásokhoz, hogy adjanak néki a szõlõ gyümölcsébõl; a munkások pedig azt megvervén, üresen bocsáták el. |
| 11 | And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. | És még másik szolgát is külde; de azok azt is megvervén és meggyalázván, üresen bocsáták el. |
| 12 | And again he sent the third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. | És még harmadikat is külde; de azok azt is megsebesítvén, kiveték. |
| 13 | Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be when they see him they will reverence him. | Monda azért a szõlõnek ura: Mit cselekedjem? Elküldöm az én szerelmes fiamat: talán azt, ha látják, megbecsülik. |
| 14 | But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. | De mikor azt látták a munkások, tanakodának egymás közt, mondván: Ez az örökös; jertek, öljük meg õt, hogy a miénk legyen az örökség! |
| 15 | So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them? | És kivetvén õt a szõlõbõl, megölék. Mit cselekszik azért a szõlõnek ura azokkal? |
| 16 | He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, may that never be. | Elmegy és elveszti azokat a munkásokat, és a szõlõt másoknak adja. És mikor ezt hallották, mondának: Távol legyen [az]! |
| 17 | And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? | Õ pedig reájok tekintvén, monda: Mi az tehát, a mi meg van írva: A mely követ az építõk megvetettek, az lett a szegelet fejévé? |
| 18 | Whoever shall fall upon that stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. | Valaki erre a kõre esik, szétzúzatik; a kire pedig ez esik reá, szétmorzsolja azt. |
| 19 | And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. | És igyekeznek vala a fõpapok és az írástudók kezeiket õ reá vetni azon órában; de félének a néptõl; mert megérték, hogy õ ellenök mondta e példázatot. |
| 20 | And they watched him, and sent forth spies, who should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him to the power and authority of the governor. | Annakokáért vigyázván õ reá, leselkedõket küldének ki, a kik igazaknak tetteték magokat, hogy õt megfogják beszédében; hogy átadják a felsõbbségnek és a helytartó hatalmának. |
| 21 | And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: | Kik megkérdezék õt, mondván: Mester, tudjuk, hogy te helyesen beszélsz és tanítasz, és személyt nem válogatsz, hanem az Istennek útját igazán tanítod: |
| 22 | Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Cesar, or not? | Szabad-é nékünk adót fizetnünk a császárnak, vagy nem? |
| 23 | But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, Why tempt ye me? | Õ pedig észrevévén álnokságukat, monda nékik: Mit kísértetek engem? |
| 24 | Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cesar's. | Mutassatok nékem egy pénzt; kinek a képe és felirata van rajta? És felelvén, mondának: A császáré. |
| 25 | And he said to them, Render therefore to Cesar the things which are Cesar's, and to God the things which are God's. | Õ pedig monda nékik: Adjátok meg azért a mi a császáré, a császárnak, és a mi az Istené, az Istennek. |
| 26 | And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marveled at his answer, and held their peace. | És nem tudták õt megfogni beszédében a nép elõtt; és csodálkozván az õ feleletén, elhallgatának. |
| 27 | Then came to him certain of the Sadducees (who deny that there is any resurrection) and they asked him, | Hozzá menvén pedig a sadduczeusok közül némelyek, a kik tagadják, hogy van feltámadás, megkérdék õt, |
| 28 | Saying, Master, Moses wrote to us, If any man's brother should die, having a wife, and he should die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother. | Mondván: Mester, Mózes megírta nékünk, ha valakinek testvére meghal, kinek felesége volt, és magzatok nélkül hal meg, hogy annak testvére elvegye [annak] feleségét, és támasszon magot az õ testvérének. |
| 29 | There were therefore seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and died without children. | Hét testvér vala azért: és az elsõ feleséget vévén, meghalt magzatok nélkül; |
| 30 | And the second took her for a wife, and he died childless. | A másik vevé el azért annak feleségét, és az [is] magzatok nélkül halt meg; |
| 31 | And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: And they left no children, and died. | Akkor a harmadik vette el azt; és hasonlóképen mind a heten is; és nem hagytak magot, és meghaltak. |
| 32 | Last of all the woman died also. | Mind ezek után pedig meghalt az asszony is. |
| 33 | Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife. | A feltámadáskor azért kinek a felesége lesz közülök? mert mind a hétnek felesége volt. |
| 34 | And Jesus answering, said to them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: | És felelvén, monda nékik Jézus: E világnak fiai házasodnak és férjhez adatnak: |
| 35 | But they who shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage. | De a kik méltókká tétetnek, hogy ama világot elvegyék, és a halálból való feltámadást, sem nem házasodnak, sem férjhez nem adatnak: |
| 36 | Neither can they die any more: for they are equal to the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. | Mert meg sem halhatnak többé: mert hasonlók az angyalokhoz; és az Isten fiai, mivelhogy a feltámadásnak fiai. |
| 37 | Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. | Hogy pedig a halottak feltámadnak, Mózes is megjelentette a csipkebokornál, mikor az Urat Ábrahám Istenének és Izsák Istenének és Jákób Istenének mondja. |
| 38 | For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live to him. | Az Isten pedig nem a holtaknak, hanem az élõknek [Istene:] mert mindenek élnek õ néki. |
| 39 | Then certain of the scribes answering, said, Master, thou hast well said. | Felelvén pedig némelyek az írástudók közül, mondának: Mester, jól mondád! |
| 40 | And after that, they durst not ask him any question at all. | És többé semmit sem mertek tõle kérdezni. |
| 41 | And he said to them, How say they that Christ is David's son? | Monda pedig nékik: Mimódon mondják, hogy a Krisztus Dávidnak fia? |
| 42 | And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, | Holott maga Dávid mondja a zsoltárok könyvében: Monda az Úr az én Uramnak, ülj az én jobbkezem felõl, |
| 43 | Till I make thy enemies thy footstool. | Míglen vetem a te ellenségeidet a te lábaid alá zsámolyul. |
| 44 | David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son? | Dávid azért Urának mondja õt, mimódon fia tehát néki? |
| 45 | Then in the audience of all the people, he said to his disciples, | És az egész nép hallására monda az õ tanítványainak: |
| 46 | Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; | Oltalmazzátok meg magatokat az írástudóktól, kik hosszú köntösökben akarnak járni, és szeretik a piaczokon való köszöntéseket, és a gyülekezetekben az elsõ ûlést, és a lakomákon a fõhelyeket; |
| 47 | Who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation. | Kik az özvegyeknek házát felemésztik, és színbõl hosszan imádkoznak; ezek súlyosabb ítélet alá esnek. |
