| 1 | Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. | Akkor hasonlatos lesz a mennyeknek országa ama tíz szûzhöz, a kik elõvevén az õ lámpásaikat, kimenének a võlegény elé. |
| 2 | And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. | Öt pedig közülök eszes vala, és öt bolond. |
| 3 | They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: | A kik bolondok valának, mikor lámpásaikat elõvevék, nem vivének magukkal olajat; |
| 4 | But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. | Az eszesek pedig lámpásaikkal együtt olajat vivének az õ edényeikben. |
| 5 | While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. | Késvén pedig a võlegény, mindannyian elszunnyadának és aluvának. |
| 6 | And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. | Éjfélkor pedig kiáltás lõn: Ímhol jõ a võlegény! Jõjjetek elébe! |
| 7 | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. | Akkor felkelének mind azok a szûzek, és elkészíték az õ lámpásaikat. |
| 8 | And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil: for our lamps are gone out. | A bolondok pedig mondának az eszeseknek: Adjatok nékünk a ti olajotokból, mert a mi lámpásaink kialusznak. |
| 9 | But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. | Az eszesek pedig felelének, mondván: Netalán nem lenne elegendõ nékünk és néktek; menjetek inkább az árúsokhoz, és vegyetek magatoknak. |
| 10 | And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready, went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. | Mikor pedig venni járnak vala, megérkezék a võlegény; és a kik készen valának, bemenének õ vele a menyegzõbe, és bezáraték az ajtó. |
| 11 | Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. | Késõbb pedig a többi szûzek is megjövének, mondván: Uram! Uram! nyisd meg mi nékünk. |
| 12 | But he answered and said, Verily I say to you, I know you not. | Õ pedig felelvén, monda: Bizony mondom néktek, nem ismerlek titeket. |
| 13 | Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man cometh. | Vigyázzatok azért, mert sem a napot, sem az órát nem tudjátok, a melyen az embernek Fia eljõ. |
| 14 | For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered to them his goods. | Mert épen úgy van ez, mint az az ember, a ki útra akarván kelni, eléhívatá az õ szolgáit, és a mije volt, átadá nékik. |
| 15 | And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and forthwith took his journey. | És ada az egyiknek öt tálentomot, a másiknak kettõt, a harmadiknak pedig egyet, kinek-kinek az õ erejéhez képest; és azonnal útra kele. |
| 16 | Then he that had received the five talents, went and traded with the same, and gained other five talents. | Elmenvén pedig a ki az öt tálentomot kapta vala, kereskedék azokkal, és szerze más öt tálentomot. |
| 17 | And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. | Azonképen a kié a kettõ vala, az is más kettõt nyere. |
| 18 | But he that had received one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. | A ki pedig az egyet kapta vala, elmenvén, elásá azt a földbe, és elrejté az õ urának pénzét. |
| 19 | After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. | Sok idõ múlva pedig megjöve ama szolgáknak ura, és számot vete velök. |
| 20 | And he that had received five talents, came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst to me five talents: behold, I have gained besides them five talents more. | És elõjövén a ki az öt tálentomot kapta vala, hoza más öt tálentomot, mondván: Uram, öt tálentomot adtál vala nékem; ímé más öt tálentomot nyertem azokon. |
| 21 | His lord said to him, Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | Az õ ura pedig monda néki: Jól vagyon jó és hû szolgám, kevesen voltál hû, sokra bízlak ezután; menj be a te uradnak örömébe. |
| 22 | He also that had received two talents came, and said, Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents besides them. | Elõjövén pedig az is, a ki a két tálentomot kapta vala, monda: Uram, két tálentomot adtál volt nékem; ímé más két tálentomot nyertem azokon. |
| 23 | His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | Monda néki az õ ura: Jól vagyon jó és hû szolgám, kevesen voltál hû, sokra bízlak ezután; menj be a te uradnak örömébe. |
| 24 | Then he who had received the one talent came, and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strewed: | Elõjövén pedig az is, a ki az egy tálentomot kapta vala, monda: Uram, tudtam, hogy te kegyetlen ember vagy, a ki ott is aratsz, a hol nem vetettél, és ott is takarsz, a hol nem vetettél; |
| 25 | And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast what is thine. | Azért félvén, elmentem és elástam a te tálentomodat a földbe; ímé megvan a mi a tied. |
| 26 | His lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not strewed: | Az õ ura pedig felelvén, monda néki: Gonosz és rest szolga, tudtad, hogy ott is aratok, a hol nem vetettem, és ott is takarok, a hol nem vetettem; |
| 27 | Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest. | El kellett volna tehát helyezned az én pénzemet a pénzváltóknál; és én, megjövén, nyereséggel kaptam volna meg a magamét. |
| 28 | Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who hath ten talents. | Vegyétek el azért tõle a tálentomot, és adjátok annak, a kinek tíz tálentoma van. |
| 29 | For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. | Mert mindenkinek, a kinek van, adatik, és megszaporíttatik; a kinek pedig nincsen, attól az is elvétetik, a mije van. |
| 30 | And cast ye the unprofitable servant into utter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. | És a haszontalan szolgát vessétek a külsõ sötétségre; ott lészen sírás és fogcsikorgatás. |
| 31 | When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit upon the throne of his glory: | Mikor pedig eljõ az embernek Fia az õ dicsõségében, és õ vele mind a szent angyalok, akkor beül majd az õ dicsõségének királyiszékébe. |
| 32 | And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: | És elébe gyûjtetnek mind a népek, és elválasztja õket egymástól, miként a pásztor elválasztja a juhokat a kecskéktõl. |
| 33 | And he will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. | És a juhokat jobb keze felõl, a kecskéket pedig bal keze felõl állítja. |
| 34 | Then will the King say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: | Akkor ezt mondja a király a jobb keze felõl állóknak: Jertek, én Atyámnak áldottai, örököljétek ez országot, a mely számotokra készíttetett a világ megalapítása óta. |
| 35 | For I was hungry, and ye gave me food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: | Mert éheztem, és ennem adtatok; szomjúhoztam, és innom adtatok; jövevény voltam, és befogadtatok engem; |
| 36 | Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came to me. | Mezítelen voltam, és megruháztatok; beteg voltam, és meglátogattatok; fogoly voltam, és eljöttetek hozzám. |
| 37 | Then will the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? | Akkor felelnek majd néki az igazak, mondván: Uram, mikor láttuk, hogy éheztél, és tápláltunk volna? vagy szomjúhoztál, és innod adtunk volna? |
| 38 | When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? | És mikor láttuk, hogy jövevény voltál, és befogadtunk volna? vagy mezítelen voltál, és felruháztunk volna? |
| 39 | Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee? | Mikor láttuk, hogy beteg vagy fogoly voltál, és hozzád mentünk volna? |
| 40 | And the king will answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me. | És felelvén a király, azt mondja majd nékik: Bizony mondom néktek, a mennyiben megcselekedtétek egygyel az én legkisebb atyámfiai közül, én velem cselekedtétek meg. |
| 41 | Then will he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: | Akkor szól majd az õ bal keze felõl állókhoz is: Távozzatok tõlem, ti átkozottak, az örök tûzre, a mely az ördögöknek és az õ angyalainak készíttetett. |
| 42 | For I was hungry, and ye gave me no food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: | Mert éheztem, és nem adtatok ennem; szomjúhoztam, és nem adtatok innom; |
| 43 | I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. | Jövevény voltam, és nem fogadtatok be engem; mezítelen voltam, és nem ruháztatok meg engem; beteg és fogoly voltam, és nem látogattatok meg engem. |
| 44 | Then will they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? | Akkor ezek is felelnek majd néki, mondván: Uram, mikor láttuk, hogy éheztél, vagy szomjúhoztál, vagy hogy jövevény, vagy mezítelen, vagy beteg, vagy fogoly voltál, és nem szolgáltunk volna néked? |
| 45 | Then will he answer them, saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. | Akkor felel majd nékik, mondván: Bizony mondom néktek, a mennyiben nem cselekedtétek meg egygyel eme legkisebbek közül, én velem sem cselekedtétek meg. |
| 46 | And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. | És ezek elmennek majd az örök gyötrelemre; az igazak pedig az örök életre. |
