| 1 mapa | Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month; and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. | És eljutának Izráel fiai, az egész gyülekezet Czin pusztájába az elsõ hónapban és megtelepedék a nép Kádesben, és meghala ott Miriám, és eltemetteték ott. |
| 2 | And there was no water for the congregation: and they assembled themselves against Moses and against Aaron. | De nem vala vize a gyülekezetnek, összegyûlének azért Mózes és Áron ellen. |
| 3 | And the people chid with Moses, and spoke, saying, O that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! | És feddõzék a nép Mózessel, és szólának mondván: Vajha holtunk volna meg, mikor megholtak a mi atyánkfiai az Úr elõtt! |
| 4 | And why have ye brought the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? | És miért hoztátok az Úrnak gyülekezetét e pusztába, hogy meghaljunk itt mi, és a mi barmaink? |
| 5 mapa | And why have ye conducted us from Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. | És miért hoztatok fel minket Égyiptomból, hogy e rossz helyre hozzatok minket, hol nincs vetés, sem füge, sem szõlõ, sem gránátalma, és inni való víz sincsen! |
| 6 | And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared to them. | Elmenének azért Mózes és Áron a gyülekezetnek színe elõl, a gyülekezet sátorának nyílása elé, és arczukra borulának; és megjelenék nékik az Úrnak dicsõsége. |
| 7 | And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | És szóla az Úr Mózesnek, mondván: |
| 8 | Take the rod, and convene thou the assembly, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye to the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth its water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give drink to the congregation and their beasts. | Vedd ezt a vesszõt, és gyûjtsd össze a gyülekezetet te, és Áron, a te atyádfia, és szóljatok ím e kõsziklának az õ szemeik elõtt, hogy adjon vizet; és fakaszsz vizet nékik e kõsziklából, és adj inni a gyülekezetnek és az õ barmaiknak. |
| 9 | And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. | Vevé azért Mózes azt a vesszõt az Úrnak színe elõl a mint parancsolta vala néki. |
| 10 | And Moses and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock, and he said to them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? | És összegyûjték Mózes és Áron a gyülekezetet a kõszikla elé, és monda nékik: Halljátok meg most, ti lázadók! Avagy e kõsziklából fakasszunk-é néktek vizet? |
| 11 | And Moses lifted his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. | És felemelé Mózes az õ kezét, és megüté a kõsziklát az õ vesszejével két ízben; és sok víz ömle ki, és ivék a gyülekezet és az õ barmai. |
| 12 | And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. | És monda az Úr Mózesnek és Áronnak: Mivelhogy nem hittetek nékem, hogy megdicsõítettetek volna engem Izráel fiainak szemei elõtt: azért nem viszitek be e községet a földre, a melyet adtam nékik. |
| 13 mapa | This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them. | Ezek a versengésnek vizei, a melyekért feddõztek Izráel fiai az Úrral; és megdicsõítette magát õ bennök. |
| 14 mapa | And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us: | És külde Mózes követeket Kádesbõl Edom királyához, [kik így szólának:] Ezt mondja a te atyádfia az Izráel: Te tudod mindazt a nyomorúságot, a mely mi rajtunk esett: |
| 15 mapa | How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians afflicted us, and our fathers: | Hogy a mi atyáink alámentek Égyiptomba, és sok ideig laktunk Égyiptomban, és hogy nyomorgatának minket az égyiptombeliek, és a mi atyáinkat. |
| 16 mapa | And when we cried to the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth from Egypt: and behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border: | És kiáltottunk az Úrhoz, és meghallgatta a mi szónkat, és angyalt külde és kihozott minket Égyiptomból; és ímé Kádesben vagyunk a te határodnak végvárosában. |
| 17 mapa | Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high-way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders. | Hadd mehessünk át a te földeden! Nem megyünk át sem mezõn, sem szõlõn, és kútvizet sem iszunk; az országúton megyünk, és nem térünk sem jobbra, sem balra, míg általmegyünk a te határodon. |
| 18 mapa | And Edom said to him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword. | Felele pedig Edom: Nem mehetsz át az én [földemen], hogy fegyverrel ne menjek ellened! |
| 19 | And the children of Israel said to him, We will go by the highway: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet. | És mondának néki Izráel fiai: A járt úton megyünk fel, és ha a te vizedet iszszuk, én és az én barmaim, megadom annak az árát. Nincs egyéb szándék[om] csak hogy gyalog mehessek át. |
| 20 mapa | And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with many people, and with a strong hand. | Az pedig monda: Nem mégy át. És kiméne õ ellene Edom sok néppel és nagy erõvel. |
| 21 mapa | Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him. | Mivel nem akará Edom megengedni Izráelnek, hogy általmenjen az õ országán: azért eltére Izráel õ tõle. |
| 22 mapa | And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came to mount Hor. | Majd elindulának Kádesbõl, és jutának Izráel fiai, az egész gyülekezet a Hór hegyére. |
| 23 mapa | And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, | És szóla az Úr Mózesnek és Áronnak, a Hór hegyénél, Edom földének határán, mondván: |
| 24 mapa | Aaron shall be gathered to his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah. | Áron az õ népeihez takaríttatik: mert nem megy be a földre, a melyet Izráel fiainak adtam, mivelhogy ellenszegültetek az én szómnak a versengésnek vizénél. |
| 25 mapa | Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to mount Hor: | Vedd Áront és Eleázárt, az õ fiát, és vezesd fel õket a Hór hegyére. |
| 26 | And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered to his people, and shall die there. | És vetkeztesd le Áront az õ ruháiból, és öltöztesd fel azokba Eleázárt, az õ fiát; mert Áron [az õ népéhez] takaríttatik, és meghal ott. |
| 27 mapa | And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they ascended mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. | És úgy cselekedék Mózes, a mint parancsolta vala az Úr, és felmenének a Hór hegyére az egész gyülekezet láttára. |
| 28 | And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount. | És Mózes levetkezteté Áront az õ ruháiból, és felöltözteté azokba Eleázárt, az õ fiát. És meghala Áron ott a hegynek tetején, Mózes pedig és Eleázár leszálla a hegyrõl. |
| 29 | And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel. | És látá az egész gyülekezet, hogy meghalt vala Áron, és siratá Áront harmincz napig Izráelnek egész háza. |
