1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there,2 and Jesus and his disciples were also called to the marriage.3 And being short of wine, the mother of Jesus said unto him, They have no wine.4 Jesus said unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come.5 His mother said unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.7 Jesus said unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.8 And he said unto them, Draw out now and bear unto the butler. And they bore [it].9 When the butler had tasted the water that was made wine and knew not where it was [from] (but the servants who drew the water knew), the butler called the bridegroom10 and said unto him, Every man at the beginning sets forth the good wine, and when they are well satisfied, then that which is worse; [but] thou hast kept the good wine until now.11 This beginning of the signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his glory, and his disciples believed on him.

1 And as [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man who was blind from [his] birth.2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?3 Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.4 It is expedient that I do the works of him that sent me while it is day; the night comes, when no one can work.5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay7 and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent). Then he went and washed and came back seeing.8 The neighbours, therefore, and those who before had seen him that he was blind said, Is not this he that sat and begged?9 Some said, This is he; others [said], He is like him; [but] he said, I am [he].10 Then they said unto him, How were thine eyes opened?11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash; and I went and washed, and I received sight.12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

13 When Jesus heard [of it], he departed from there by ship into a desert place apart; and when the people had heard [of it], they followed him on foot out of the cities.14 And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.17 And they said unto him, We have here but five loaves and two fishes.18 He said, Bring them here to me.19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass and took the five loaves and the two fishes; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the loaves to [his] disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.20 And they all ate and were filled, and they took up of the fragments that remained, twelve baskets full.21 And those that had eaten were about five thousand men besides women and children.

35 And that same day, when evening was come, he said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow; and they awoke him and said unto him, Master, dost thou not care that we perish?39 And as he arose, he rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?41 And they feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?:

25 And a [certain] woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years26 and had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse;27 when she had heard of Jesus, came from behind among the multitude and touched his garment.28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be saved.29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in [her] body that she was healed of that plague.30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned to the crowd and said, Who touched my clothes?31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee and sayest thou, Who touched me?32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth.34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith has made thee saved; go in peace and remain whole of thy plague.

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him a man of the tombs, with an unclean spirit,3 who had [his] dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, no, not with chains,4 because many times he had been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been broken in pieces by him, and the fetters shattered; neither could anyone tame him.5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and hurting himself with stones.6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him.7 Crying out with a loud voice, he said, What hast thou with me, Jesus, [thou] Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, [thou] unclean spirit.9 And he asked him, What [is] thy name? And he answered, saying, My name [is] Legion, for we are many.10 And he besought him much that he would not send him away out of that country.11 Now near unto the mountains there was a great herd of swine feeding,12 and all those devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine, and the herd fell over a cliff into the sea (they were about two thousand) and were choked in the sea.14 And those that fed the swine fled and told [it] in the city and in the country. And [people] went out to see what it was that had happened.15 And they come to Jesus and see him that was tormented by the demon and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.16 And those that saw [it] told them what happened to him that had the demon and [also] concerning the swine.17 And they began to plead with him to depart out of their borders.18 And as he was entering into the ship, he that had been troubled by the demon besought him that he might be with him.19 But Jesus suffered him not but said unto him, Go home to thy [friends] and family and tell them what great things the Lord has done with thee and [how] he has had mercy on thee.20 And he went and began to publish in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done with him, and everyone marveled.

The damsel is not dead, but sleeps.40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he took the father and the mother of the damsel and those that were with him and entered in where the damsel was lying.41 And taking the damsel by the hand, he said unto her, Talitha cumi, which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.42 And straightway the damsel arose and walked, for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.43 And he charged them straitly that no one should know it and commanded that [something] should be given her to eat.:

22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship and to go before him unto the other side while he sent the multitude away.23 And when he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray; and when the evening was come, he was there alone.24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves, for the wind was contrary.25 And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking upon the sea.26 And when the disciples saw him walking upon the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear.27 But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Trust [that] I AM; be not afraid.28 Then Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me [to] come unto thee upon the water.29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked upon the water to go to Jesus.30 But seeing that the wind was strong, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand and caught him and said unto him, O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.33 Then those that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Truly thou art [the] Son of God.

1 And again he entered into Capernaum after [some] days, and it was heard that he was in the house.2 And soon many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive [them], no, not so much as about the door; and he preached the word unto them.3 And they came unto him, bringing a paralytic, carried by four [men].4 And when they could not come near unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof [of the house] where he was; and when they had broken it open, they let down the bed in which the paralytic lay.5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the paralytic, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there and thinking in their hearts,7 Why does this [fellow] so blaspheme? Who can forgive sins but God only?8 And Jesus, knowing afterward in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said unto them, Why think ye these things in your hearts?9 What is easier to say to the paralytic, [Thy] sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise and take up thy bed and walk?10 But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (he spoke to the sick of the palsy),11 I say unto thee, Arise and take up thy bed and go to thy house.12 And by and by he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, We never saw anything like unto this.

1 Now a certain [man] was sick, [named] Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.2 (It was [that] Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother Lazarus was sick.)3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.4 When Jesus heard [that], he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.7 Then after that he said to [his] disciples, Let us go into Judea again.8 [His] disciples said unto him, Rabbi, the Jews of late sought to stone thee, and goest thou there again?9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world.10 But he who walks in the night stumbles because there is no light in him.11 Having said that he said unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may awake him out of sleep.12 Then his disciples said, Lord, if he sleeps, he shall be saved.13 But Jesus had spoken of his death, and they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.14 Then Jesus said unto them plainly, Lazarus has died.15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, in order that ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.16 Then Thomas said, who is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us go also, that we may die with him.17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had [lain] in the grave four days already.18 Now Bethany was near unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off;19 and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother.20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him; but Mary sat [still] in the house.21 Then Martha said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died.22 But I know that even now whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give [it unto] thee.23 Jesus said unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.24 Martha said unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection in the last day.25 Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live;26 and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believest thou this?27 She said unto him, Yes, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who should come into the world.28 And having said this, she went away and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calls for thee.29 As soon as she heard [that], she arose quickly and came unto him.30 (Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.)31 Then the Jews who were with her in the house and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goes unto the grave to weep there.32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died.33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping and the Jews also weeping who came with her, he became enraged in [the] Spirit and stirred himself up34 and said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.35 Jesus wept.36 Then the Jews said, Behold how he loved him!37 And some of them said, Could not this [man], who opened the eyes of the blind, have also caused that this [man] should not have died?38 Jesus therefore, becoming enraged again in himself, came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that had died, said unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks, for he has been [dead] four days.40 Jesus said unto her, Did I not say unto thee that if thou wouldest believe thou shalt see the glory of God?41 Then they took away the stone [from the place] where the dead was laid. And Jesus, lifting up [his] eyes, said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.42 And I knew that thou hearest me always, but because of the people who stand by I said [it], that they may believe that thou hast sent me.43 And having said these things, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.44 Then he that had been dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
