Now there were six stone waterpots standing there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing two or three measures each. Jesus *said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." So they filled them up to the brim. And He *said to them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." And they took it to him.Now when the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the groom, and *said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the guests are drunk, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.We must carry out the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world."When He had said this, He spit on the ground, and made mud from the saliva, and applied the mud to his eyes, and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he left and washed, and came back seeing. So the neighbors, and those who previously saw him as a beggar, were saying, "Is this not the one who used to sit and beg?" Others were saying, "This is he," still others were saying, "No, but he is like him." The man himself kept saying, "I am the one." So they were saying to him, "How then were your eyes opened?" He answered, "The Man who is called Jesus made mud, and spread it on my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash’; so I went away and washed, and I received sight." Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, "This place is secluded and the hour is already past to eat; send the crowds away, so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves." But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go; you give them something to eat!"They *said to Him, "We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish." And He said, "Bring them here to Me."And ordering the crowds to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked up toward heaven. He blessed the food and breaking the loaves, He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And a fierce gale of wind *developed, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling with water. And yet Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they *woke Him and *said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, "Why are you afraid? For she had been saying to herself, "If I just touch His garments, I will get well." And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power from Him had gone out, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My garments?"And His disciples said to Him, "You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ " And He looked around to see the woman who had done this. But the woman, fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. The Demon-possessed Man Cured
They came to the other side of the sea, into the region of the Gerasenes. When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him. He lived among the tombs; and no one was able to bind him anymore, not even with a chain, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces; and no one was strong enough to subdue him. Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and cutting himself with stones. Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, "What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!" For He had already been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"And He was asking him, "What is your name?" And he *said to Him, "My name is Legion, for we are many." And he begged Him earnestly not to send them out of the region. Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding nearby on the mountain. And the demons begged Him, saying, "Send us into the pigs so that we may enter them." Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the pigs; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.
Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the countryside. And the people came to see what it was that had happened. And then they *came to Jesus and *saw the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had previously had the "legion"; and they became frightened. Those who had seen it described to them how it had happened to the demon-possessed man, and all about the pigs. And they began to beg Him to leave their region. And as He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was begging Him that he might accompany Him. And He did not let him, but He *said to him, "Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you."And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.

Miracles and Healing
When Jesus had crossed over again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him; and He stayed by the seashore. And one of the synagogue officials, named Jairus, *came, and upon seeing Him, *fell at His feet and *pleaded with Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live." And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him.
A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse— after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak. And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be cured of your disease."
While He was still speaking, people *came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, "Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher further?" But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, *said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid, only believe."And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. They *came to the house of the synagogue official, and He *saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing. And after entering, He *said to them, "Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child has not died, but is asleep."And they began laughing at Him. But putting them all outside, He *took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and *entered the room where the child was in bed.And taking the child by the hand, He *said to her, "Talitha, kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!"). And immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astonished. And He gave them strict orders that no one was to know about this, and He told them to have something given her to eat.

Jesus Walks on the Water
Immediately afterward He compelled the disciples to get into the boat and to go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid."
Peter responded and said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out with His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are truly God’s Son!"
9. Cura do paralítico
Referência: Marcos 2:1-12
Explicação: Jesus cura o corpo, mas primeiro perdoa os pecados. Este milagre estabelece que sua missão principal é a reconciliação espiritual do homem com Deus.
The Paralyzed Man Healed
When Jesus came back to Capernaum a few days later, it was heard that He was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer space, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. And some people *came, bringing to Him a man who was paralyzed, carried by four men.And when they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and after digging an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralyzed man was lying. And Jesus, seeing their faith, *said to the paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven."But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking it over in their hearts, "Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God alone?" Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were thinking that way within themselves, *said to them, "Why are you thinking about these things in your hearts?Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’?But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"—He *said to the paralyzed man, "I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet, and go home."And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
10. Ressurreição de Lázaro
Referência: João 11:1-44
Explicação: O milagre mais impactante antes da crucificação. Ao ressuscitar alguém morto há quatro dias, Jesus declara: "Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida".
The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus
Now a certain man was sick: Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. And it was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick." But when Jesus heard this, He said, "This sickness is not meant for death, but is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it."(Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister, and Lazarus.) So when He heard that he was sick, He then stayed two days longer in the place where He was. Then after this He *said to the disciples, "Let’s go to Judea again."The disciples *said to Him, "Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone You, and yet You are going there again?" Jesus replied, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks during the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."This He said, and after this He *said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going so that I may awaken him from sleep."The disciples then said to Him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will come out of it." Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about actual sleep. So Jesus then said to them plainly, "Lazarus died, and I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe; but let’s go to him."Therefore Thomas, who was called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, "Let’s also go, so that we may die with Him!"
So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away; and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to console them about their brother. So then Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him, but Mary stayed in the house. Martha then said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." Jesus *said to her, "Your brother will rise from the dead."Martha *said to Him, "I know that he will rise in the resurrection on the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"She *said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I have come to believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, andHe who comes into the world."
When she had said this, she left and called Mary her sister, saying secretly, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you." And when she heard this, she *got up quickly and came to Him.
Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still at the place where Martha met Him. Then the Jews who were with her in the house and were consoling her, when they saw that Mary had gotten up quickly and left, they followed her, thinking that she was going to the tomb to weep there. So when Mary came to the place where Jesus was, she saw Him and fell at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." Therefore when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled, and He said, "Where have you laid him?" They *said to Him, "Lord, come and see." Jesus wept. So the Jews were saying, "See how He loved him!" But some of them said, "Could this Man, who opened the eyes of the man who was blind, not have also kept this man from dying?"
So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, *came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. Jesus *said, "Remove the stone." Martha, the sister of the deceased, *said to Him, "Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days." Jesus *said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"So they removed the stone. And Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.But I knew that You always hear Me; nevertheless, because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me."And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"Out came the man who had died, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus *said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."
