1 The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there.2 Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.3 When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine."4 Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come."5 His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."6 Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jewish manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.7 Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim.8 He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." So they took it.9 When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,10 and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!"11 This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

1 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"3 Jesus answered, "Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him.4 I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."6 When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, anointed the blind man's eyes with the mud,7 and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which means "Sent"). So he went away, washed, and came back seeing.8 The neighbors therefore, and those who saw that he was a beggar before, said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?"9 Some said, "It is he." Others said, "He looks like him."He said, "I am he."10 They therefore were asking him, "How were your eyes opened?"11 He answered, "A man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to Siloam, and wash.' So I went away and washed, and I received sight."12 Then they asked him, "Where is he?"He said, "I do not know."

13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat, to a secluded place to be alone. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.14 And he went out, and he saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick.15 Now when evening had come, the disciples came to him, saying, "This place is desolate, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food."16 But he said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."17 And they told him, "We only have here five loaves and two fish."18 So he said, "Bring them here to me."19 Then he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes.20 And they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.21 Now those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let us go over to the other side."36 Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other boats were also with him.37 A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled.38 He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?"39 And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.40 And he said to them, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"41 And they were greatly afraid, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"

25 Now a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,26 and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.28 For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well."29 And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.30 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"31 And his disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"32 He looked around to see her who had done this thing.33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.34 And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."

1 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.2 When he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs.3 He lived in the tombs. And no one could bind him any more, not even with chains,4 because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. No one had the strength to tame him.5 Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,7 and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me."8 For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"9 Then he asked him, "What is your name?"He replied, "My name is Legion, for we are many."10 And he begged him much that he would not send them away out of the region.11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.12 They begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."13 He gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.14 Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country.The people came out to see what it was that had happened.15 They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.16 And those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.17 Then they began to beg him to depart from their region.18 As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.19 And he did not allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your own, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you."20 So he went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.

21 And when Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.22 One of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,23 and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Why bother the Teacher any more?"36 But Jesus, overhearing the message spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid, only believe."37 He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, Jacob, and John the brother of Jacob.38 And they came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.39 When he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.40 And they ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was.41 Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha koum!" which means, being interpreted, "Girl, I tell you, get up!"42 And immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.43 And he strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.

22 And immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.23 And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was against it.25 And in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them, walking on the sea.26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they screamed with fear.27 But immediately he spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! It is I! Do not be afraid."28 Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters."29 He said, "Come!"Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he yelled, saying, "Lord, save me!"31 Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"32 When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.33 Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, "You are truly the Son of God!"

1 When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house.2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.3 Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.4 When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof above him. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.5 Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you."6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,7 "Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?"8 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you reason these things in your hearts?9 Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?'10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins", he said to the paralytic,11 "I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house."12 And he arose immediately, and took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"

1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister, Martha.2 It was that Mary who had anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother, Lazarus, was sick.3 The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, "Lord, behold, he for whom you have great affection is sick."4 But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God's Son may be glorified by it."5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.6 When therefore he heard that he was sick, he stayed two days in the place where he was.7 Then after this he said to the disciples, "Let us go into Judea again."8 The disciples told him, "Rabbi, the Jewish leaders were just trying to stone you, and are you going there again?"9 Jesus answered, "Are not there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.10 But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."11 He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep."12 The disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.14 So Jesus said to them plainly then, "Lazarus is dead.15 I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let us go to him."16 Thomas therefore, who is called The Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us go also, that we may die with him."17 So when Jesus came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away.19 Many of the Judeans had come to Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.20 Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.21 Therefore Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died.22 Even now I know that, whatever you ask of God, God will give you."23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."24 Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.26 Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"27 She said to him, "Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, God's Son, he who comes into the world."28 When she had said this, she went away, and called Mary, her sister, secretly, saying, "The Teacher is here, and is calling you."29 When she heard this, she arose quickly, and went to him.30 Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha met him.31 Then the Judeans who were with her in the house, and were consoling her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.32 Therefore when Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you would have been here, my brother would not have died."33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Judeans weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,34 and said, "Where have you put him?"They told him, "Lord, come and see."35 Jesus wept.36 The Judeans therefore said, "See how much affection he had for him!"37 Some of them said, "Could not this man, who opened the eyes of him who was blind, have also kept this man from dying?"38 Jesus therefore, again groaning in himself, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone lay against it.39 Jesus said, "Take away the stone."Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see God's glory?"41 So they took away the stone. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, "Father, I thank you that you listened to me.42 I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude that stands around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me."43 When he had said this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"44 He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth.Jesus said to them, "Free him, and let him go."
