1 ON the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.2 Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.3 When the wine ran short, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine."4 Jesus said to her, "What have you to do with my work, woman? My hour has not yet come."5 His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he tells you, do it."6 There were standing there six stone water jars in accordance with the Jewish custom of purification, holding about twenty or thirty gallons apiece.7 Jesus said to them, "Fill the jars with water." They filled them to the brim.8 Then he said to them, "Dip out now and carry it to the Master of the feast." They carried it,9 and when the Master of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, not knowing where it came from \'97 though the servants who had dipped out the water knew \'97 he called to the bridegroom10 and said to him, "Every man sets on first the fine wine, and when they have drunk freely he sets on the poorer. You have kept the fine wine till now."11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana in Galilee and displayed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

Night is coming when no one can work.5 While I am in the world I am the light of the world."6 After saying this, he spit on the ground and made clay with the spittle and put the clay on the man's eyes7 and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloamwhich means Sent." He went away and washed and came back seeing.8 His neighbors and those accustomed to see him before, when he was begging, said, "Is not this the man that sat and begged?"9 Some said, "This is he." Others said, "No, but he is like him." He said, "I am the man."10 They said to him, "How then were your eyes opened?"11 He replied, "The man called Jesus made clay and spread it on my eyes and said to me, 'Go to Siloam and wash.' I went and washed and received my sight."12 They said to him, "Where is that man?" He said, "I do not know."

But the people heard of it and followed him by land from the towns.14 As he got out of the boat, he saw a great crowd and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.15 When evening had come on, his disciples came to him and said, "This is an uninhabited place and the time is already late; send away the crowd so that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food."16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. Give them food yourselves."17 They said to him, "We have here nothing but five loaves and two fishes."18 He said, "Bring them to me."19 Then he commanded the crowd to recline on the grass, and he took the five loaves and the two fishes and looked up to heaven and asked a blessing. Then he broke up the loaves and gave them to his disciples, and the disciples distributed to the crowd.20 All ate and had abundance, and they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces that remained over.21 Those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

35 On that day when evening came he said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side."36 So they left the crowd and took him along just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with them.37 Then a heavy squall of wind came up and the waves beat into the boat so that it was filling.38 But he was in the stern asleep on the cushion. They aroused him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are sinking?"39 When he awoke, he rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." The wind ceased and there was a great calm.40 Then he asked them, "Why are you so timid? How is it you have no faith?"41 But they were intensely awestruck and said to one another, "Who, then, is this, that even the wind and the lake obey him?"

Go in peace and be well of your trouble."

1 THEY came to the other side of the lake, to the land of the Gerasenes.2 When he got out of the boat, immediately there came out of the tombs to meet him a man under the power of an impure spirit.3 This man made his dwelling in the tombs, and nobody could bind him even with a chain,4 because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart and the fetters broken in pieces by him, and no one was strong enough to tame him.5 All night and all day long he was in the tombs and in the mountains, shrieking and cutting himself with stones.6 When he saw Jesus a long way off, he ran and knelt to him7 and shouted with a loud voice, "What have I and you to do with each other, Jesus, Son of God most high? I adjure you by God, not to torment me."8 For Jesus had said to him, "Come out from the man, you impure spirit."9 Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "Legion is my name, for we are many."10 Then he begged Jesus earnestly not to send them out of the country.11 There was on the mountain-side a great herd of swine feeding,12 and the demons begged him, "Send us to the swine and let us go into them."13 He consented. The impure spirits came out of the man and entered into the swine. Then the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned in the lake.14 At this, those who were feeding them fled and told it in the city and in the fields, and people came to see what had happened.15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the demoniac, the man who had had the legion, sitting there clothed and in his right mind. They were struck with awe.16 Those who had seen it told them about what had happened to the demoniac and about the swine.17 Then they began to beg him to go away from their neighborhood.18 As Jesus was entering the boat, the man who had been demoniac begged him to let him stay with him.19 He, however, did not consent, but said, "Go to your own house and to your family, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he had mercy on you."20 So he went away and began to make known in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and all were astonished.

21 When Jesus had recrossed in the boat to the other side of the lake, a great crowd gathered around him as he stood on the shore.22 Then came one of the directors of the synagogue, by the name of Jairus, and as soon as he saw Jesus he fell at his feet23 and pleaded with him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is near to death. I beg you to come and lay your hands on her so that she may be saved and live."24 Jesus went away with him and a great crowd followed and pressed upon him.25 There was a woman who had for twelve years had a hemorrhage26 and had suffered much under the treatment of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, though without becoming better, but rather worse;27 this woman had heard about Jesus, and she came in the crowd behind him and touched his cloak,28 for she said, "If I can touch even his clothes, I shall be healed."29 Immediately the hemorrhage ceased and she knew in her body that she was healed of her affliction.30 Jesus was at once conscious that power had gone from him, and turned in the crowd and said, "Who touched my clothes?"31 His disciples replied, "You see the people crowding you, and do you ask, 'Who touched me?'32 But he looked around to see who had done it.33 Then the woman, afraid and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell before him and told him all the truth.34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be well of your trouble."35 While he was still speaking, people came from the house of the synagogue Director and told him, "Your daughter is dead; why annoy the teacher any longer?"36 But Jesus, overhearing what they were saying, said to the Director, "Never fear; only believe."37 He did not permit any one to accompany him except Peter and James and John, the brother of James.38 When they approached the Director's house, they saw a noisy crowd weeping loudly and wailing.39 He entered and said, "Why are you making so much noise and weeping so? The child is not dead, but is sleeping."40 But they laughed at him. Then he put them all out and took the child's father and mother and his own companions and went in where the child was.41 Taking hold of the child's hand he said to her, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, rise up."42 Immediately the little girl rose up and walked around. She was twelve years old. They were utterly amazed.43 But he strictly ordered that no one should know it, and told them to give her something to eat.

22 Then he made his disciples get into the boat and go on across while he was dismissing the crowd.23 After dismissing the crowd, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray, When evening came, he was there alone.24 The boat was already far out from land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them.25 In the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking on the water.26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified, saying that it was a ghost, and they cried out with fear.27 But at once Jesus spoke to them and said, "Courage. It is I. Do not be afraid."28 Peter answered, "Sir, if it is you, bid me to come to you on the water."29 Jesus said, "Come." Then Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.30 But seeing the wind he became frightened, and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Sir, save me!"31 At once Jesus stretched out his hand and grasped him and said, "O man of little faith, why did you doubt?"32 After they got into the boat, the wind stopped.33 Then the men in the boat bowed down to him and said, "Truly you are the Son of God."
9. Cura do paralítico
Referência: Marcos 2:1-12
Explicação: Jesus cura o corpo, mas primeiro perdoa os pecados. Este milagre estabelece que sua missão principal é a reconciliação espiritual do homem com Deus.
1 HE came again into Capernaum, and after some days it was heard that he was in the house.2 Many came together, so that there was no longer room even near the door, and he preached to them.3 Then some people came bringing to him a paralytic, borne by four.4 Not being able to bring him near, owing to the crowd, they opened the roof where he was, and when they had broken through it, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."6 There were some of the scribes sitting there and debating in their minds,7 "Why does this man talk so? He speaks profane words. Who except God can forgive sins?"8 Immediately Jesus, perceiving that they were inwardly reasoning in this way, said to them, "Why do you reason so in your minds?9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your pallet and walk'?10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins," turning to the paralytic he said,11 "I tell you, Rise, take up your pallet and go to your house."12 Immediately the man rose and took up his pallet and went out before all, so that they were astounded and gave praise to God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
10. Ressurreição de Lázaro
Referência: João 11:1-44
Explicação: O milagre mais impactante antes da crucificação. Ao ressuscitar alguém morto há quatro dias, Jesus declara: "Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida".
1 THERE was a certain man sick \'97 Lazarus of Bethany, of the village of Mary and Martha her sister.2 It was that Mary who anointed the Master with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother Lazarus was sick.3 So the sisters sent to Jesus, saying, "Master, he whom you love is sick."4 When Jesus heard it he said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it."5 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.6 So when he heard that he was sick, he stayed where he was two days.7 Then, after that, he said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judaea again."8 The disciples said to him, "Rabbi, just now the Jews were trying to stone you, and are you going there again?"9 Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any one walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world.10 But if any one walks in the night, he stumbles because the light is not in him."11 He said this, and then he said to them, "Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him."12 The disciples said to him, "Master, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."13 But Jesus had spoken of his death. They thought that he was speaking of the repose of sleep.14 Then Jesus said to them frankly, "Lazarus has died,15 and I am glad on your account that I was not there \'97 so that you may believe. But let us go to him."16 Thomas, who is called Didymus the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us go too to die with him."17 When Jesus came he found that Lazarus had been already four days in the tomb.18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away,19 and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them regarding their brother.20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him. Mary was sitting in the house.21 Martha said to Jesus, "Master, if you had been here my brother would not have died.22 And now I know that whatever you ask God for, God will give you."23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."24 Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise at the resurrection on the last day."25 Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me even though he dies will live,26 and no one who lives and believes in me will ever die. Do you believe this?"27 She said to him, "Yes, Master. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."28 Having said this, she went away and called Mary her sister, saying to her privately, "The Teacher is here and is asking for you."29 She, when she heard it, rose quickly and went to meet him.30 Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him.31 The Jews who were with Mary in the house trying to comfort her, seeing her rise quickly and go out, followed thinking that she was going to the tomb to wail there.32 When Mary came where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying, "Master, if you had been here my brother would not have died."33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her weeping, he was indignant in spirit and disturbed,34 and said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to him, "Master, come and see."35 Jesus wept.36 The Jews said, "See, how he loved him!"37 Some of them said, "Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind, have prevented this man from dying?"38 Jesus, again indignant, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying on the entrance.39 Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, "Master, he is already offensive, for he has been dead four days."40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?"41 So they took away the stone. Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank thee for hearing me.42 I know that thou always hearest me; but for the sake of the crowd that stand around I say it, that they may believe that thou didst send me."43 After saying this he called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth."44 Forth came the dead man, swathed feet and hands in grave-clothes and his face bound up in a handkerchief. Jesus said, "Loose him and let him go."
