A última palavra pertence ao Senhor. Os planos do homem estão sujeitos à soberania de Deus. Ele rege toda a história e nenhum de seus propósitos pode ser frustrado.
The plans of the heart belong to man,
but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
The Lord has made everything for its purpose,
even the wicked for the day of trouble.
God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
And the Lord said to Moses, "Is the Lord’s hand shortened? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not."
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
"I know that you can do all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
Whatever the Lord pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day of which I have spoken.
yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that."
