Contrast of the Upright and the Wicked

1 The plans of the heart belong to a person,

But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

4 The Lord has made everything for *its own purpose,

Even the wicked for the day of evil.

19 "God is not a man, that He would lie,

Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind;

Has He said, and will He not do it?

Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

23 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Is the Lord’s*power too little? Now you shall see whether My word will *come true for you or not."

11 So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;

It will not return to Me empty,

Without accomplishing what I desire,

And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.

27 "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?"

2 "I know that You can do all things,

And that no plan is impossible for You.

6 Whatever the Lord pleases, He does,

In heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all the ocean depths.

17 He *is before all things, and in Him all things *hold together.

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

8 Behold, it is coming and it shall be done," declares the Lord God. "That is the day of which I have spoken.

14 *Yet you do not know *what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away. 15 *Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that."
