19 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false testimony, and slander.

18 Flee fornication. Every other sin that a person commits is outside the body, but he who commits fornication sins against his own body.

16 I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is contrary to the flesh. These are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the very things you want to do.

19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: *adultery, fornication, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, *pt ¦ quarreling 𝔐pt CT PCKquarrels, *jealousies, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, *murder, drunkenness, revelries, and the like. I warn you, just as I warned you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

4 Marriage must be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed must be kept pure, *but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

3 It is God’s will that you be sanctified, that you abstain from fornication, 4 and that each of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor, 5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.

4 *Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? *12 • CT ¦ Whoever 𝔐8Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
