Ajuda ao próximo

Por Bíblia Online

Ajudar o próximo é mandamento de Deus e expressão prática da fé. A Bíblia ensina que a fé sem obras é morta — e que servir ao menor dos irmãos é servir a Cristo.

For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.

Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?

And the King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."

The crowds asked him, "What then should we do?"

John replied, "Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same."

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves with purses that will not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

In everything, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus Himself: It is more blessed to give than to receive."

When Paul had said this, he knelt down with all of them and prayed. They all wept openly as they embraced Paul and kissed him. They were especially grieved by his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Accept One Another

We who are strong ought to bear with the shortcomings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Faith and Works

What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you tells him, "Go in peace; stay warm and well fed," but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.

If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?

Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD,

and He will repay the lender.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am commanding you to open wide your hand to your brother and to the poor and needy in your land.
