Ajuda ao próximo

Por Bíblia Online

Ajudar o próximo é mandamento de Deus e expressão prática da fé. A Bíblia ensina que a fé sem obras é morta — e que servir ao menor dos irmãos é servir a Cristo.

I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.The righteous will then answer him, When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?The King will reply, I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!

When someone asks you for something, give it to him; when someone wants to borrow something, lend it to him.

In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.

Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your handsall that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you."

The people asked him, "What are we to do, then?"

He answered, "Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has food must share it."

Sell all your belongings and give the money to the poor. Provide for yourselves purses that don’t wear out, and save your riches in heaven, where they will never decrease, because no thief can get to them, and no moth can destroy them. For your heart will always be where your riches are.

My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you.

The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them.

I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way we must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, There is more happiness in giving than in receiving."

When Paul finished, he knelt down with them and prayed. They were all crying as they hugged him and kissed him good-bye. They were especially sad because he had said that they would never see him again. And so they went with him to the ship.

Share your belongings with your needy fellow Christians, and open your homes to strangers.

Please Others, Not Yourselves

We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not please ourselves.

Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.

If you used to rob, you must stop robbing and start working, in order to earn an honest living for yourself and to be able to help the poor.

And look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own.

Faith and Actions

My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don’t have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, "God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!"if you don’t give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.

If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God?

When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.

There will always be some Israelites who are poor and in need, and so I command you to be generous to them.
