Ajuda ao próximo

Por Bíblia Online

Ajudar o próximo é mandamento de Deus e expressão prática da fé. A Bíblia ensina que a fé sem obras é morta — e que servir ao menor dos irmãos é servir a Cristo.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me as a guest, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, I was in prison and you came to me.Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you as a guest, or naked and clothe you?And when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?And the king will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

In the same way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Give, and it will be given to you, a good measurepressed down, shaken, overflowingthey will pour out into your lap. For with the measure by which you measure out, it will be measured out to you in return."

And the crowds were asking him, saying, "What then should we do?" And he answered and said to them, "The one who has two tunics must share with the one who does not have one, and the one who has food must do likewise."

Sell your possessions and give charitable gifts. Make for yourselves money bags that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven where thief does not approach or moth destroy. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

This is my commandment: that you love one another just as I have loved you.

No one has greater love than this: that someone lay down his life for his friends.

I have shown you with respect to all things that by working hard in this way it is necessary to help those who are in need, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

And when he had said these things, he fell to his knees and prayed with them all. And there was considerable weeping by all, and hugging Paul, they kissed him, especially distressed at the statement that he had said, that they were going to see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

Accept One Another according to Christ’s Example

But we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Carry the burdens of one another, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

The one who steals must steal no longer, but instead must labor, working with his own hands what is good, so that he may have something to share with the one who has need.

each of you not looking out for your own interests, but also each of you for the interests of others.

Faith and Works

What is the benefit, my brothers, if someone says that he has faith but does not have works? That faith is not able to save him, is it?If a brother or a sister is poorly clothed and lacking food for the day, and one of you should say to them, "Go in peace, keep warm and eat well," but does not give them what is necessary for the body, what is the benefit? Thus also faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself.

But whoever has the world’s material possessions and observes his brother in need and shuts his heart against him, how does the love of God reside in him?

He who lends to Yahweh is he who is kind to the poor,

and his benefits he will repay to him.

For the poor will not cease to be among you in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, You shall willingly open your hand to your brother, to your needy and to your poor that are in your land.
