Ajuda ao próximo

Por Bíblia Online

Ajudar o próximo é mandamento de Deus e expressão prática da fé. A Bíblia ensina que a fé sem obras é morta — e que servir ao menor dos irmãos é servir a Cristo.

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?And the King will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.

Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measurepressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."

And the crowds were questioning him, saying, "Then what are we to do?" And he would answer and say to them, "The one who has two tunics is to share with the one who has none; and the one who has food is to do likewise."

"Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

DisciplesRelation to Each Other

"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  "

When he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. And they all began to weep aloud and embraced Paul, and repeatedly kissed him, grieving especially over the word which he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they were accompanying him to the ship.

contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

Self-denial in behalf of Others

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.

do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Faith and Works

What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

One who is gracious to a poor person lends to the Lord,

And He will repay him for his good deed.

For the poor will not cease to exist in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, You shall fully open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.
