25 *Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and *gave himself up for her,

33 However, *let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she *respects her husband.

28 In the same way *husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,

25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you *speak the truth with his neighbor, for *we are members one of another.

26 *Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and *give no opportunity to the devil.

29 *Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give *grace to those who hear.

31 *Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 *Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, *forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. *What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

15 *And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, *choose this day whom you will serve, whether *the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or *the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. *But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

4 *Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge *the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Rules for Christian Households

18 *Wives, submit to your husbands, as *is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and *do not be harsh with them.

14 And above all these put on *love, which *binds everything together in *perfect harmony. 15 And let *the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called *in one body. And *be thankful.

12 *Put on then, as *God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, *compassionate hearts, *kindness, *humility, meekness, and patience, 13 *bearing with one another and, *if one has a complaint against another, *forgiving each other; *as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

4 *Love is patient and *kind; love *does not envy or boast; it *is not arrogant 5 or rude. It *does not insist on its own way; it *is not irritable or resentful;*6 it *does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but *rejoices with the truth. 7 *Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, *endures all things.

10 To the married *I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): *the wife should not separate from her husband 11 (but if she does, *she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and *the husband should not divorce his wife.

3 *The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 *Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, *so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

3 Do nothing from *selfish ambition or *conceit, but in *humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you *look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

15 See that *no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always *seek to do good to one another and to everyone.

8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since *love covers a multitude of sins.

22 He who finds *a wife finds *a good thing

and *obtains favor *from the Lord.
