25 *Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.

33 But it also applies to you: every husband must love his wife as himself, and every wife must respect her husband.

28 Men ought to love their wives just as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself. ( 29 None of us ever hate our own bodies. Instead, we feed them, and take care of them, just as Christ does the church;

25 *No more lying, then! Each of you must tell the truth to the other believer, because we are all members together in the body of Christ.

26 *If you become angry, do not let your anger lead you into sin, and do not stay angry all day. 27 Don’t give the Devil a chance.

29 Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you.

31 Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort. 32 *Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.

6 So they are no longer two, but one. No human being must separate, then, what God has joined together."

15 If you are not willing to serve him, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your ancestors worshiped in Mesopotamia or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are now living. As for my family and me, we will serve the Lord."

4 *Marriage is to be honored by all, and husbands and wives must be faithful to each other. God will judge those who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

Personal Relations in the New Life

18 *Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, for that is what you should do as Christians.

19 *Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

14 And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. 15 The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.

12 *You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 *Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.

4 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; 5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; 6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. 7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

10 *For married people I have a command which is not my own but the Lord’s: a wife must not leave her husband; 11 but if she does, she must remain single or else be reconciled to her husband; and a husband must not divorce his wife.

3 A man should fulfill his duty as a husband, and a woman should fulfill her duty as a wife, and each should satisfy the other’s needs. 4 A wife is not the master of her own body, but her husband is; in the same way a husband is not the master of his own body, but his wife is. 5 Do not deny yourselves to each other, unless you first agree to do so for a while in order to spend your time in prayer; but then resume normal marital relations. In this way you will be kept from giving in to Satan’s temptation because of your lack of self-control.

3 Don’t do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves. 4 And look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own.

15 See that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but at all times make it your aim to do good to one another and to all people.

8 *Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins.

22 *Find a wife and you find a good thing; it shows that the Lord is good to you.
