Alimento
Quem vem a mim nunca terá fome. O alimento espiritual sacia plenamente.
Jesus replied:
I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in me will ever be thirsty.
Don’t work for food that spoils. Work for food that gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give you this food, because God the Father has given him the right to do so."
Jesus answered, "The Scriptures say:
‘No one can live only on food.
People need every word
that God has spoken.’ "
God blesses those people
who want to obey him
more than to eat or drink.
They will be given
what they want!
But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.
I tell you not to worry about your life. Don’t worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food or clothing?
Be like newborn babies who are thirsty for the pure spiritual milk that will help you grow and be saved.
Provisão divina
Deus provê alimento em abundância. Ele multiplica pães e peixes, enche os famintos e supre toda necessidade.
Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish. He looked up toward heaven and blessed the food. Then he broke the bread and fish and handed them to his disciples to give to the people.
Everyone ate all they wanted. What was left over filled twelve baskets.
To everyone who is thirsty,
he gives something to drink;
to everyone who is hungry,
he gives good things to eat.
I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I challenge you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse, so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven and flood you with blessing after blessing.
God gives seed to farmers and provides everyone with food. He will increase what you have, so you can give even more to those in need.
Generosity will be rewarded:
Give a cup of water,
and you will receive
a cup of water in return.
Kind words are like honey—
they cheer you up
and make you feel strong.
Nehemiah told the people, "Enjoy your good food and wine and share some with those who didn’t have anything to bring. Don’t be sad! This is a special day for the Lord, and he will make you happy and strong."
Gratidão e moderação
Nada trouxemos para o mundo e nada levaremos. Tudo o que fizerdes, fazei para a glória de Deus — inclusive comer e beber.
We didn’t bring anything into this world, and we won’t take anything with us when we leave. So we should be satisfied just to have food and clothes.
When you eat or drink or do anything else, always do it to honor God.
Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, while praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day the Lord added to their group others who were being saved.
Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together.
But you should not criticize others for eating or for not eating. After all, God welcomes everyone.
Don’t let anyone tell you what you must eat or drink. Don’t let them say you must celebrate the New Moon festival, the Sabbath, or any other festival. These things are only a shadow of what was to come. But Christ is real!
so he made you go hungry. Then he gave you manna, a kind of food that you and your ancestors had never even heard about. The Lord was teaching you that people need more than food to live—they need every word that the Lord has spoken.
You can eat any fish that has fins and scales. But there are other creatures that live in the water, and if they do not have fins and scales, you must not eat them. Treat them as unclean.
I have provided all kinds of fruit and grain for you to eat.
and I have given them to you for food. From now on, you may eat them, as well as the green plants that you have always eaten. But life is in the blood, and you must not eat any meat that still has blood in it.
I ate no fancy food or meat, I drank no wine, and I put no olive oil on my face or hair.
