Amigo
O amigo verdadeiro é dádiva rara de Deus. Ele ama em todo tempo, fala a verdade em amor, aconselha com sabedoria e permanece fiel nas adversidades da vida.
Amizade verdadeira
Há amigo mais chegado que um irmão. Em todo tempo ama o amigo. O perfume e o incenso alegram o coração — assim o conselho doce do amigo.
A man with friends—to show himself friendly, || And there is a lover adhering more than a brother!
The friend is loving at all times, || And a brother is born for adversity.
Perfume and incense make the heart glad, || And the sweetness of one’s friend—from counsel of the soul.
Iron is sharpened by iron, || And a man sharpens the face of his friend.
Better [is] open reproof than hidden love. The wounds of a lover are faithful, || And the kisses of an enemy [are] abundant.
Do not forsake your own friend and the friend of your father, || And do not enter the house of your brother in a day of your calamity, || A near neighbor [is] better than a brother far off.
Whoever is walking with wise men is wise, || And a companion of fools suffers evil.
Do not show yourself friendly with an angry man, || And do not go in with a man of fury, Lest you learn his paths, || And have received a snare to your soul.
A multitude of men each proclaim his kindness, || And a man of steadfastness who finds?
Wealth adds many friends, || And the poor is separated from his neighbor.
Jesus, o amigo
Já não vos chamo servos, mas amigos. O maior amor é dar a vida pelo amigo. Jesus é o amigo que nunca falha.
greater love has no one than this, that anyone may lay down his life for his friends; you are My friends if you may do whatever I command you; I no longer call you servants, because the servant has not known what his lord does, and I have called you friends, because all things that I heard from My Father, I made known to you.
This is My command, that you love one another, according as I loved you; greater love has no one than this, that anyone may lay down his life for his friends;
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another; no one has ever seen God; if we may love one another, God remains in us, and His love is having been perfected in us;
in this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brothers; and whoever may have the goods of the world, and may view his brother having need, and may shut up his yearnings from him—how does the love of God remain in him? My little children, may we not love in word nor in tongue, but in work and in truth!
And the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness"; and, "Friend of God" he was called.
in the love of brothers, to one another kindly affectioned: in the honor going before one another;
Companheiros de fé
Dois são melhores do que um. Os companheiros de fé se fortalecem mutuamente e caminham juntos com o Senhor.
The two [are] better than the one, in that they have a good reward by their labor. For if they fall, the one raises up his companion, but woe to the one who falls and there is not a second to raise him up!
A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. BY DAVID. Behold, how good and how pleasant || The dwelling of brothers—even together! As the good oil on the head, || Coming down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, || That comes down on the skirt of his robes, As dew of Hermon—That comes down on hills of Zion, || For there YHWH commanded the blessing—Life for all time!
I [am] a companion to all who fear You, || And to those keeping Your precepts.
And Jonathan makes—David also—a covenant, because he loves him as his own soul,
Do not be led astray; evil communications corrupt good manners;
