Amigo
O amigo verdadeiro é dádiva rara de Deus. Ele ama em todo tempo, fala a verdade em amor, aconselha com sabedoria e permanece fiel nas adversidades da vida.
Amizade verdadeira
Há amigo mais chegado que um irmão. Em todo tempo ama o amigo. O perfume e o incenso alegram o coração — assim o conselho doce do amigo.
There are friends that one hath to his own hurt; but there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart; so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Better is open rebuke than love that is hidden. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are importunate.
Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity; better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but the companion of fools shall smart for it.
Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; and with a wrathful man thou shalt not go; Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness; but a faithful man who can find?
Wealth addeth many friends; but as for the poor, his friend separateth himself from him.
Jesus, o amigo
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up.
A Song of Ascents; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard; even Aaron’s beard, that cometh down upon the collar of his garments; Like the dew of Hermon, that cometh down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for ever.
I am a companion of all them that fear Thee, and of them that observe Thy precepts.
Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul.
