Amigo
O amigo verdadeiro é dádiva rara de Deus. Ele ama em todo tempo, fala a verdade em amor, aconselha com sabedoria e permanece fiel nas adversidades da vida.
Amizade verdadeira
Há amigo mais chegado que um irmão. Em todo tempo ama o amigo. O perfume e o incenso alegram o coração — assim o conselho doce do amigo.
Jesus, o amigo
Já não vos chamo servos, mas amigos. O maior amor é dar a vida pelo amigo. Jesus é o amigo que nunca falha.
No one has greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father.
"This is my commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us.
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth.
And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness," and he was called a friend of God.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Take the lead in honoring one another.
