43 "You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor*,*and hate your enemy.44 But I tell you, love your enemies*and pray for those who*persecute you,*

12 "This is my command: Love one another as I have loved*you.

8 Indeed, if you fulfill the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself,  *,* you are doing well.

Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.  *14 Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called  * in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.

15 Everyone who hates his brother or sister  * is a murderer,  * and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. 16 This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life  * for us.  * We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.  *

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God  * and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
