Amor ao próximo
O amor ao próximo não é opcional — é mandamento. Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. A lei inteira se cumpre nesta palavra. O amor ao próximo é prova do amor a Deus.
You’ve heard that the law said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
This is my command: love one another as I have loved you.
Don’t owe anybody anything, except love for one another—for those who love their neighbor have kept the law.
We should all encourage others to do what’s morally right, building them up.
Whatever you do, do it in love.
May the Lord increase your love so it overflows to one another, and to everyone, just as we love you.
May love for each other as brothers and sisters always continue! Don’t forget to show love for strangers too, because by doing so some have welcomed angels without knowing it. Remember those who are locked up in prison as if you were imprisoned with them. Remember those who are mistreated as if you were physically suffering with them.
If you really observe the royal law of Scripture: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," then you do well.
Most of all, you should love one another very deeply, for love covers many of the wrong things people do.
Since you are God’s special people, holy and dearly loved, adopt a sympathetic nature that is kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Be patient with one another, forgive others among you if you have grievances against one another. Just as the Lord forgave you, you should do the same. Above all, love one another, which is the perfect bond that will hold you together. May the peace of Christ direct your thinking, because you were called to this by God who makes you one, and thank God for it!
The message you’ve heard from the beginning is simply this: we should love one another.
All those who hate their Christian brothers and sisters are murderers, and you know that no murderers have eternal life within them! This is how we know what love is: Jesus laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters.
Dear friends, let’s go on loving one another, for love comes from God. All those who love are born of God and know God. Those who don’t love don’t know God, for God is love.
