14 I praise you, because I am fearfully

and wonderfully made.*

Wonderful are your works,

and my soul knows it well.

17 And to me, how precious* are your thoughts, O God;

how vast is their sum.

18 If I should count them,

they would outnumber the sand.

I awaken, and I am still with you.

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars which you set in place—

4 what is a human being that you think of him?

and a child of humankind that you care for him?

5 And you made him a little lower than heavenly beings,*

and with glory and with majesty you crowned him.

7 He raises the helpless from the dust;

he lifts the needy from the ash heap,

8 to seat them with princes,

with the princes of his people.

7 But Yahweh said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For God does not see what man sees, for a man looks on the outward appearance,* but Yahweh looks on the heart."*

9 But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. 7 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered! Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

A Variety of Gifts in the Body of Christ

3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of yourself than what one ought to think, but to think sensibly*, as God has apportioned a measure of faith to each one.
