16 For God loved*the world in this way:*He gave*his one and only*Son,*so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.*

34 "I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love*one another."

8 But God proves  * his own love for us  * in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,  * nor angels nor rulers,  * nor things present nor things to come,  * nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God  * that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  *

10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.

4 Love is patient,  * love is kind. Love does not envy,  * is not boastful, is not arrogant,  *5 is not rude, is not self-seeking,  * is not irritable,  * and does not keep a record of wrongs. 6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.  *7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures  * all things.

8 Love never ends.  * But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

8 The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

18 There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear,  * because fear involves punishment.  * So the one who fears is not complete in love.  *

3 For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden,  *

22 But the fruit of the Spirit  * is love,  * joy,  * peace, patience,  * kindness,  * goodness, faithfulness,
