Thanksgiving for God’s Deliverance
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his faithful love endures forever.
This is the day the Lord has made;
let’s rejoice and be glad in it.
The Lord Delivers the Righteous
I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart celebrates,
and I give thanks to him with my song.
You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and new wine abound.
You reveal the path of life to me;
in your presence is abundant joy;
at your right hand are eternal pleasures.
I have asked one thing from the Lord;
it is what I desire:
to dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
gazing on the beauty of the Lord
and seeking him in his temple.
Teach us to number our days carefully
so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts. ,
Gray hair is a glorious crown;
it is found in the ways of righteousness.
The glory of young men is their strength,
and the splendor of old men is gray hair.
but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint.
"As you see, the Lord has kept me alive these forty-five years as he promised, since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel was journeying in the wilderness. Here I am today, eighty-five years old. I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. My strength for battle and for daily tasks is now as it was then.
"May the Lord bless you and protect you;
may the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
may the Lord look with favor on you
and give you peace." ’
