13 Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of *pt ¦ it yet 𝔐pt ANT PCK WHit. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Pressing On Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ *Jesus has taken hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of *pt ¦ it yet 𝔐pt ANT PCK WHit. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore all of us who are mature should adopt this mindset, and if you adopt a different mindset about anything, God will reveal that to you as well.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, *219 55.3% • 𝔐134 38.8% ¦ new things have come CT 2.5%all things have become new.

A Living Hope

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

14 Above all, put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 Let the peace of *God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

10 For our fathers disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in his holiness. 11 Now no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces the peaceful fruit of righteousness for those trained by it.

Boasting About Tomorrow

13 Come now, you who say, "Today *and tomorrow *let us go to such and such a city, spend a year there, trade, and make a profit." 14 You do not know *what will happen tomorrow. What is *your life? *It is a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, *let us live and do this or that." 16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes; all such boasting is evil. 17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin.
