14 Turn away from evil and do what is good;  *

seek peace and pursue it.  *

3 Trust in the Lord and do what is good;  *

dwell in the land and live securely.  *,*

13 I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness

in the land of the living.  *

6 Remember, Lord, your compassion

and your faithful love,

for they have existed from antiquity.  *,*

7 Do not remember the sins of my youth  *

or my acts of rebellion;  *

in keeping with your faithful love, remember me

because of your goodness, Lord.  *

17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways

and faithful in all his acts.  *

9 Then you will understand righteousness, justice,

and integrity — every good path.

22 What is desirable in a person is his fidelity;

better to be a poor person than a liar.  *

22 But the fruit of the Spirit  * is love,  * joy,  * peace, patience,  * kindness,  * goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness,  * and self-control.  * The law is not against such things.  *

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work  * for the good  * of all, especially for those who belong to the household  * of faith.  *

29 No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need,  * so that it gives grace to those who hear.

32 And be kind  * and compassionate  * to one another, forgiving  * one another, just as God also forgave you  * in Christ.

9 Let love be without hypocrisy.  * Detest evil;  * cling to what is good.

21 Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.

23 "Everything is permissible,"  * but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible,"  * but not everything builds up.

33 Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."

8 And God is able  * to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.

9 Also, the women are to dress themselves in modest clothing,  * with decency and good sense, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold,  * pearls, or expensive apparel, 10 but with good works,  * as is proper for women who profess to worship God.

14 He gave himself for us  * to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession,  * eager to do good works.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, 6 knowledge with self-control,  * self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, 7 godliness with brotherly affection,  * and brotherly affection with love.

13 Who then will harm you if you are devoted to what is good?

16 This is what the Lord says:

Stand by the roadways and look.

Ask about the ancient paths,  *

"Which is the way to what is good? "

Then take it

and find rest for yourselves.  *

But they protested, "We won’t! "

7 The Lord is good,

a stronghold in a day of distress;

he cares for those who take refuge  * in him.

15 No one lights a lamp*and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house.*16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.*

36 Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.*
