The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

But in answer He said, "It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word coming out of God’s mouth.’ "

Sanctify them by Your Truth; Your Word is Truth.

You examine the Scriptures because in them you think you have eternal life, yet they are the very ones that testify about me.

Estudar e pregar

Os bereanos examinavam as Escrituras diariamente. Procura apresentar-te a Deus aprovado como obreiro que maneja bem a Palavra.

Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all goodwill, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things might be so.

So Paul, as was his custom, went in to them and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Messiah had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and that "this Jesus whom I proclaim to you is the Messiah."

So running up Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah and said, "Do you really understand what you are reading?" So he said, "Well how can I, unless someone guides me?" And he urged Philip to come up and sit with him.

Now the portion of the Scripture that he was reading was this:

"He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;

and as a lamb before its shearer is silent,

so He does not open His mouth.

So opening his mouth and beginning from this Scripture, Philip preached Jesus to him.

Then He said to them: "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the Prophets have spoken! Was it really not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?" And beginning from Moses, and then all the Prophets, He explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

And approaching Jesus asserted to them saying: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. As you go, make disciples in all ethnic nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; name", singular, not names. So we have only one name. God is one nameor essence subsisting in three persons. teaching them to obey everything that I commanded you; and take note, I am with you every day, until the end of the age!"

Amen.

And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has come near.

Revelação e fidelidade

A Palavra do Senhor veio aos profetas. A graça de Deus se manifestou na Escritura para a salvação de todos.

Viver pela Palavra

Não só de pão vive o homem. Nada acrescentes nem diminuas. A Palavra é alimento, guia e espada do cristão.

Paul is disappointed

I am sadly surprised that you are turning away so quickly from the one who called you by the grace of Christ, to a different gospel it is not a mere variation, but certain people are unsettling you and wanting to distort the Gospel of the Christ. Now even if we, or an angel out of heaven, should preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed! As we have just said, I here emphatically repeat: If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed!!

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, so that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God; which things we also expound, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Holy Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to spiritual people.

Now a soulish understand spiritual things, which sounds rather like a congenital defect, no spiritthe reference might be to humanoids à la Genesis 6 (Matthew 24:37). (I would say that the correct translation of Jude 19 is: "they are soulish, not having a spirit". See the footnote at that point.) man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; indeed, he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdomdid not get to know God, it pleased God to save the believing ones through the foolishnessof what was preached

since Jews request a sign while Greeks seek after wisdom, but we proclaim a crucified Christ: an offense to Jews, foolishness to Greeks. Now to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God,

Because Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the Gospelnot with eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of power.
