A carne
A carne representa a natureza pecaminosa que milita contra o Espírito. A Bíblia ensina que os que pertencem a Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões e desejos.
Carne versus Espírito
Os que são segundo a carne inclinam-se para as coisas da carne. O nascido da carne é carne; o nascido do Espírito é Espírito.
That which has been begotten by the flesh is flesh, and that which has been begotten by the Spirit is spirit.
The Spirit is the One who makes alive; the flesh does not benefit anything. The words that I speak to you are spirit, are Life.
Vencer a carne
Andai no Espírito e não cumprireis os desejos da carne. Os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões.
I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Now the works of the flesh are obvious, namely: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, fits of anger, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions, envyings, murders, drinking bouts, orgies, and the like; about which I am warning you beforehand, as, in fact, I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Further, those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Now you, brothers, have been called to freedom; only do not use that freedom as an opening for the flesh, but slave for one another through love.
—he who sows to his own flesh will reap deterioration from that flesh; he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from that Spirit.
Watch and pray, so that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit on its part is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither will deterioration inherit incorruptibility.
