A carne
A carne representa a natureza pecaminosa que milita contra o Espírito. A Bíblia ensina que os que pertencem a Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões e desejos.
Carne versus Espírito
Os que são segundo a carne inclinam-se para as coisas da carne. O nascido da carne é carne; o nascido do Espírito é Espírito.
For those who are living according to the flesh are intent on the things of the flesh, but those who are living according to the Spirit are intent on the things of the Spirit. For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mindset of the flesh is enmity toward God, for it is not subjected to the law of God, for it is not able to do so, and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.
Set Free from the Law of Sin and Death
Consequently, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what was impossible for the law, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the requirement of the law would be fulfilled in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Consequently, I find the principle with me, the one who wants to do good, that evil is present with me.For I joyfully agree with the law of God in my inner person, but I observe another law in my members, at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that exists in my members.
For when we were in the flesh, sinful desires were working through the law in our members, to bear fruit for death.
What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
The Spirit is the one who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
Vencer a carne
Andai no Espírito e não cumprireis os desejos da carne. Os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com suas paixões.
Live by the Spirit and Reject the Deeds of the Flesh
But I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never carry out the desire of the flesh.
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, things which I am telling you in advance, just as I said before, that the ones who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh together with its feelings and its desires.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
because the one who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
because everything that is in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance of material possessions—is not from the Father, but is from the world.
in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, by the removal of the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!"
But I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruptibility.
