For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere.

I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God

Than live in the tents of wickedness.

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the Lord

And to meditate in His temple.

Blessed is the one You choose and allow to approach You;

He will dwell in Your courtyards.

We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,

Your holy temple.

Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.
A Song of Ascents, of David.

I was glad when they said to me,

"Let’s go to the house of the Lord."

Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,

And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lordforever.

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;

I trust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.

For zeal for Your house has consumed me,

And the taunts of those who taunt You have fallen on me.

O templo

Minha casa será chamada casa de oração. O zelo da tua casa me consumiu. O verdadeiro templo é o corpo do cristão.

Cleansing the Temple

And Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying on the temple grounds, and He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And He *said to them, "It is written: My house will be called a house of prayer; but you are making it a den of robbers."

First PassoverCleansing the Temple

The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And within the temple grounds He found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables.And He made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away from here; stop making My Father’s house a place of business!"His disciples remembered that it was written: "Zeal for Your house will consume me."

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one should act in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

but Christ was faithful as a Son over His housewhose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.

"Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it according to the pattern which he had seen. Our fathers in turn received it, and they also brought it in with Joshua upon dispossessing the nations that God drove out from our fathers, until the time of David. David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the house of Jacob. But it was Solomon who built a house for Him. However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:

Heaven is My throne,

And the earth is the footstool of My feet;

What kind of house will you build for Me?says the Lord,

Or what place is there for My rest?

Was it not My hand that made all these things?

Heaven Is God’s Throne

This is what the Lord says:

"Heaven is My throne and the earth is the footstool for My feet.

Where then is a house you could build for Me?

And where is a place that I may rest?

"For My hand made all these things,

So all these things came into being," declares the Lord.

"But I will look to this one,

At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "The Lord is certainly in this place, and I did not know it!" And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!"
