In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
Cidadania celestial
A nossa cidadania está nos céus. Ajuntai tesouros no céu, não na terra. O céu é a pátria do cristão.
But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await from there a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
"Do not store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Yet Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Jesus said to him, "If yoʋ wish to be perfect, go sell what yoʋ have and give to the poor, and yoʋ will have treasure in heaven; then come follow me."
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.
Set your minds on the things above, not the things on earth.
Esperança eterna
Seremos arrebatados para encontrar o Senhor nos ares. Ainda não se manifestou o que havemos de ser — mas seremos semelhantes a Ele.
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left behind, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. But we know that when he appears, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. Everyone who places this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
And the Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and preserve me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
For we brought nothing into the world, and it is clear that we cannot bring anything out either, but if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
