13 Just as a father has compassion on his children,

So the Lord has compassion on those who *fear Him.

15 But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,

Slow to anger and abundant in mercy and *truth.

3 Because Your *favor is better than life,

My lips will praise You.

22 *The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end,

For His compassions do not fail.

23 They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child

And have no compassion on the son of her womb?

Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.

16 "Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;

Your walls are continually before Me.

18 Therefore the Lord*longs to be gracious to you,

And therefore He *waits on high to have compassion on you.

For the Lord is a God of justice;

How blessed are all those who *long for Him.

18 Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing

And passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His *possession?

He does not retain His anger forever,

Because He delights in mercy.

6 "And I will strengthen the house of Judah,

And I will save the house of Joseph,

And I will *bring them back,

Because I have had compassion on them;

And they will be as though I had not rejected them,

For I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.

9 "This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; 10 and do not oppress the widow or the *orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’

12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and*patience;

32 Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven *you.

8 *To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, *loving, compassionate, and humble;

17 But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his *heart *against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in *any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

11 Finally, brothers and sisters,*rejoice, mend your ways, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
