9 God is faithful, by whom you were called to fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Unity in the Midst of Diversity

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of the body, although they* are many, are one body, thus also Christ.

16 And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said,

"I will live in* them and will walk about among them,

and I will be their God and they will be my people."*

17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 And all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, indeed I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,

"Behold, the dwelling of God is with humanity,

and he will take up residence with them,

and they will be his people

and God himself will be with them.*

45 And I will dwell in the midst of the Israelites,* and I will be their God.

20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them."

Jesus Prays for the Unity of Believers

20 "And I do not ask on behalf of these only, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they all may be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, that they also may be in us, in order that the world may believe that you sent me. 22 And the glory that you have given to me, I have given to them, in order that they may be one, just as we are one—23 I in them, and you in me, in order that they may be completed in one, so that the world may know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.

24 And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us.

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, in order that we may know the one who is true, and we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.

13 By this we know that we reside in him and he in us: that* he has given us of his Spirit.

God’s Love Revealed

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.

3 what we have seen and heard, we announce to you also, in order that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

God’s Children

28 And now, little children, remain in him, so that whenever he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.

Reconciliation with God through Faith in Christ

1 Therefore, because we* have been declared righteous by faith, we have* peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

22 let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

7 Therefore subject yourselves to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded!
