A comunhão
A comunhão cristã é dom e mandamento. Juntos somos mais fortes. A Bíblia celebra a unidade dos crentes em Cristo como antecipação do céu na terra.
I am one with them, and you are one with me, so they may become completely one. Then this world’s people will know that you sent me. They will know that you love my followers as much as you love me.
But I am giving you a new command. You must love each other, just as I have loved you. If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.
All the Lord’s followers often met together, and they shared everything they had. They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever was in need. Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, while praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day the Lord added to their group others who were being saved.
We are telling you what we have seen and heard, so you may share in this life with us. And we share in it with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. This is why we must give our lives for each other.
This is why you must encourage and help each other, just as you are already doing.
What I am saying is that we can encourage each other by the faith that is ours.
Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.
Just as iron sharpens iron,
friends sharpen the minds
of each other.
You obey the law of Christ when you offer each other a helping hand.
We should help people whenever we can, especially if they are followers of the Lord.
You are better having a friend than to be all alone, because then you will get more enjoyment out of what you earn. If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble. If you sleep alone, you won’t have anyone to keep you warm on a cold night. Someone might be able to beat up one of you, but not both of you. As the saying goes, "A rope made from three strands of cord is hard to break."
