Every one of us, then, will have to give an account to God.
For God will reward each of us according to what we have done. Some people keep on doing good, and seek glory, honor, and immortal life; to them God will give eternal life. Other people are selfish and reject what is right, in order to follow what is wrong; on them God will pour out his anger and fury. There will be suffering and pain for all those who do what is evil, for the Jews first and also for the Gentiles. But God will give glory, honor, and peace to all who do what is good, to the Jews first and also to the Gentiles. For God judges everyone by the same standard.
And there is a difference between God’s gift and the sin of one man. After the one sin, came the judgment of "Guilty"; but after so many sins, comes the undeserved gift of "Not guilty!" It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God’s abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.
Judging Others
"Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.
"You can be sure that on the Judgment Day you will have to give account of every useless word you have ever spoken.
The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart. There is nothing that can be hid from God; everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes. And it is to him that we must all give an account of ourselves.
Responsabilidade pessoal
Quem é sábio prevê o perigo e se esconde. A Palavra examina os pensamentos e intenções do coração.
Sensible people will see trouble coming and avoid it, but an unthinking person will walk right into it and regret it later.
You are the one who will profit if you have wisdom, and if you reject it, you are the one who will suffer.
Think carefully before you promise an offering to God. You might regret it later.
Cases Requiring Sin Offerings
Sin offerings are required in the following cases.
If you are officially summoned to give evidence in court and do not give information about something you have seen or heard, you must suffer the consequences.
If any of you sin unintentionally by breaking any of the Lord's commands, you are guilty and must pay the penalty.
"Do not bear a grudge against others, but settle your differences with them, so that you will not commit a sin because of them.
Consequências inevitáveis
A terra deu seu fruto conforme as obras dos que nela habitam. Ninguém escapa do juízo — Deus pesa cada ação.
But the earth will become a desert because of the wickedness of those who live on it.
And you two sisters—I will punish you for your immorality and your sin of worshiping idols. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord."
If anyone takes human life, he will be punished. I will punish with death any animal that takes a human life.
How can the wicked despise God
and say to themselves, "He will not punish me"?
But you do see; you take notice of trouble and suffering
and are always ready to help.
The helpless commit themselves to you;
you have always helped the needy.
