16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter,*

18 I will not abandon you like orphans: I will come back to you.

26 But when the Father sends the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, in my place,* he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.

26 But I will send you the Comforter from the Father. When he comes, he will give evidence about me. He is the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father.

7 But I’m telling you the truth: it’s better for you that I go away, for if I don’t the Comforter won’t come to you. If I go away, I will send him to you.

3 Praise be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the compassionate Father and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those who are also in trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

5 The more we share in Christ’s sufferings, the more we receive the abundant comfort of Christ.

5 May the God who gives patience and encouragement help you to be in full agreement among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

19 When my mind was full of worries, you comforted me and encouraged me.

5 I was suffering badly, so I cried out to the Lord for help. He answered me and set me free from my pain.

16 They will never be hungry ever again, or thirsty; the sun will not beat down on them and they will not suffer scorching heat,* 17 because the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will be their shepherd,* and will lead them to springs of living water,* and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."*

12 It’s me, yes, I am the one who comforts you. Why should you be afraid of mortals who die just like grass?

4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
