O que significa o Corpo de Cristo
O Corpo de Cristo é a definição bíblica para a Igreja como um organismo vivo, e não como uma instituição ou templo físico. Nessa imagem, Jesus Cristo é a cabeça que lidera e sustenta, enquanto cada cristão atua como um membro integrado com dons e funções específicas.
O apóstolo Paulo utiliza essa figura para demonstrar duas realidades práticas: a dependência direta que a Igreja tem de Jesus e a necessidade de cooperação mútua entre os crentes, onde ninguém é autossuficiente nem dispensável.
Diversidade e unidade dos membros
Paulo usa a anatomia humana para corrigir rivalidades e divisões na igreja de Corinto e de Roma. Um corpo saudável não é composto de uma só parte: o olho não substitui o ouvido, nem a mão pode dizer ao pé que não precisa dele. Na fé cristã, a diversidade de talentos e serviços existe para o bem comum.
For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Moshiach [Messiah].(1 Corinthians 12:12)
Now you2f are the body of Moshiach [Messiah], and members in particular.(1 Corinthians 12:27)
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
So we, [being] many, are one body in Moshiach [Messiah], and every one members one of another.(Romans 12:4,5)
[There is] one body, and one Spirit [Ruach], even as you2f are called in one hope of your calling;(Ephesians 4:4)
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.(Ephesians 4:16)
Cristo como cabeça e sustento da Igreja
Afirmar que Cristo é a cabeça significa reconhecer Sua autoridade suprema e Sua primazia sobre todas as coisas. A Igreja não determina sua própria mensagem nem vive por força própria; ela depende do direcionamento, do cuidado e do alimento espiritual que recebe de Jesus.
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.(Colossians 1:18)
Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Moshiach [Messiah] in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:(Colossians 1:24)
And let the peace of God-The Father rule in your hearts, to the which also you2f are called in one body; and be you2f thankful.(Colossians 3:15)
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord - Kurios the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.(Ephesians 5:29,30)
Implicações práticas para a vida pessoal
A ligação com o Corpo de Cristo não é um conceito abstrato: ela atinge as decisões morais e o uso do próprio corpo físico no dia a dia. Estar unido a Cristo exige coerência de conduta, pois a vida de cada membro reflete diretamente sobre o restante da comunidade.
Know you2f not that your bodies are the members of Moshiach [Messiah]? shall I then take the members of Moshiach [Messiah], and make [them] the members of an prostitute? May it not be.(1 Corinthians 6:15)
