Corpo

Por Bíblia Online

O corpo é templo do Espírito Santo. A Bíblia ensina a cuidar do corpo com responsabilidade, moderação e respeito — honrando a Deus com nosso ser integral.

Templo do Espírito

Vosso corpo é templo do Espírito Santo. Glorificai a Deus no vosso corpo — ele não é vosso, foi comprado por preço.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.

But [like a boxer] I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached [the gospel] to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified [as unfit for service].

If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all.

For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformedunited together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]. [Rom 3:22; Gal 3:28]

For just as in one [physical] body we have many parts, and these parts do not all have the same function or special use, so we, who are many, are [nevertheless just] one body in Christ, and individually [we are] parts one of another [mutually dependent on each other].

Cuidar do corpo

O exercício físico é proveitoso, mas a piedade tem promessa para a vida presente e futura. Cuide do corpo com sabedoria.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.

A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing,

But a broken spirit dries up the bones. [Prov 12:25; 15:13, 15]

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,

Sweet and delightful to the soul and healing to the body.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;

Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov 8:13]

It will be health to your body [your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your musclesall your inner parts]

And refreshment (physical well-being) to your bones.

For You formed my innermost parts;

You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb.

I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Wonderful are Your works,

And my soul knows it very well.

My flesh and my heart may fail,

But God is the rock and strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.
A Psalm of David; when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You;

My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You,

In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Corpo e espírito

O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca. Não vos preocupeis com o corpo — a vida é mais do que alimento.

Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

If your right eye makes you stumble and leads you to sin, tear it out and throw it away [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

The Cure for Anxiety

"Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? [Luke 12:22-31]

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

God Knows and Cares

In the meantime, after so many thousands of the people had gathered that they were stepping on one another, Jesus began speaking first of all to His disciples, "Be continually on your guard against the leaven of the Pharisees [that is, their pervasive, corrupting influence and teaching], which is hypocrisy [producing self-righteousness]. But there is nothing [so carefully] concealed that it will not be revealed, nor so hidden that it will not be made known. [Matt 10:26-33; Mark 4:22] For that reason, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops.

"I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do.But I will point out to you whom you should fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into hell; yes, I say to you, [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him!Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? Yet not one of them has [ever] been forgotten in the presence of God.Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are far more valuable than many sparrows.

"I say to you, whoever declares openly and confesses Me before men [speaking freely of Me as his Lord], the Son of Man also will declare openly and confess him [as one of His own] before the angels of God.But he who denies Me before men will be denied in the presence of the angels of God.And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit [that is, whoever intentionally discredits the Holy Spirit by attributing the authenticating miracles done by Me to Satan], it will not be forgiven him [for him there is no forgiveness]. [Matt 12:31; Mark 3:28-30] When they bring you before the synagogues and the magistrates and the authorities, do not be worried about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say;for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."

Covetousness Denounced

Someone from the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me." But He said to him, "Man, who appointed Me a judge or an arbitrator over [the two of] you?"Then He said to them, "Watch out and guard yourselves against every form of greed; for not even when one has an overflowing abundance does his life consist of nor is it derived from his possessions."

Parable of the Wealthy Fool

Then He told them a parable, saying, "There was a rich man whose land was very fertile and productive.And he began thinking to himself, What shall I do, since I have no place [large enough in which] to store my crops?Then he said, This is what I will do: I will tear down my storehouses and build larger ones, and I will store all my grain and my goods there.And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many good things stored up, [enough] for many years; rest and relax, eat, drink and be merry (celebrate continually)." But God said to him, You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own all the things you have prepared?[Job 27:8; Jer 17:11] So it is for the one who continues to store up and hoard possessions for himself, and is not rich [in his relationship] toward God."

Jesus said to His disciples, "For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; or about your body, as to what you will wear. [Matt 6:25-33] For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.Consider the ravens, for they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the crop]; they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!And which of you by worrying can add one hour to his life’s span?So if you are not even able to do a very little thing [such as that], why are you worried about the rest?Consider the lilies and wildflowers, how they grow [in the open field]. They neither labor nor spin [wool to make clothing]; yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. [1 Kin 10:4-7] But if this is how God clothes the grass which is in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith!So as for you, do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink; nor have an anxious and unsettled mind.For all the [pagan] nations of the world greedily seek these things; and your [heavenly] Father [already] knows that you need them.But [strive for and actively] seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

"Sell your possessions (show compassion) and give [donations] to the poor. Provide money belts for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing and inexhaustible treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Be in Readiness

"Be dressed and ready for active service, and keep your lamps continuously burning.Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that when he comes and knocks they may immediately open the door for him.Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) are those servants whom the master finds awake and watching when he arrives. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he will prepare himself to serve, and will have them recline at the table, and will come and wait on them.Whether he comes in the second watch (before midnight), or even in the third (after midnight), and finds them so [prepared and ready], blessed are those servants.

"But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time the thief was coming, he [would have been awake and alert, and] would not have allowed his house to be broken into. [Matt 24:43, 44] You too, be continually ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect."

Peter said, "Lord, are You addressing this parable to us [disciples], or to everyone else as well?"

Parable of the Faithful Steward

The Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and wise steward [of the estate], whom his master will put in charge over his household, to give his servants their portion of food at the proper time? [Matt 24:45-51] Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is that servant whom his master finds so doing when he arrives.I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.But if that servant says in his heart, My master is taking his time in coming,and begins to beat the servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk,the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.And that servant who knew his master’s will, and yet did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will be beaten with many lashes [of the whip], but the one who did not know it and did things worthy of a beating, will receive only a few [lashes]. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. [Num 15:29, 30; Deut 25:2, 3]

Christ Divides Men

"I have come to cast fire (judgment) on the earth; and how I wish that it were already kindled!I have a baptism [of great suffering] with which to be baptized, and how [greatly] I am distressed until it is accomplished!Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division [between believers and unbelievers]; [Matt 10:34-36] for from now on five in one household will be divided [over Me], three against two and two against three.They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law." [Mic 7:6]

He also said to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, It is going to rain,and that is how it turns out.And when [you see that] a south wind is blowing, you say, It will be a hot day,and it happens.You hypocrites (play-actors, pretenders)! You know how to analyze and intelligently interpret the appearance of the earth and sky [to forecast the weather], but why do you not intelligently interpret this present time?

"And why do you not even on your own initiative judge what is right?For while you are going with your opponent [at law] to appear before a magistrate, on the way make an effort to settle, so that he does not drag you before the judge, and the judge does not [rule against you and] turn you over to the officer, and the officer does not throw you into prison. [Matt 5:25, 26] I say to you, you [absolutely] will not get out of there until you have paid the very last cent."

Therefore, remove sorrow and anger from your heart and put away pain from your body, for childhood and the prime of life are fleeting. [2 Cor 7:1; 2 Tim 2:22]

União e harmonia

O corpo é um só, mas tem muitos membros. Cristo é a cabeça; a paz de Cristo governe em vossos corações.

There is one body [of believers] and one Spiritjust as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation]

Marriage Like Christ and the Church

Wives, be subjectto your own husbands, as [a service] to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as Christ is head of the church, Himself being the Savior of the body.

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].

And the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man He made (fashioned, formed) into a woman, and He brought her and presented her to the man. Then Adam said,

"This is now bone of my bones,

And flesh of my flesh;

She shall be called Woman,

Because she was taken out of Man."

For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. [Matt 19:5; 1 Cor 6:16; Eph 5:31-33]

Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day.

He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed.

For we all stumble and sin in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says [never saying the wrong thing], he is a perfect man [fully developed in character, without serious flaws], able to bridle his whole body and rein in his entire nature [taming his human faults and weaknesses].
